Default Back-up light

This spring I have to get my Superformance inspected by the DMV before I can license the car. The car must have a back-up light, this week-end I've been under the car to find a way to get this installed.

Under the Solenoid, I found a plug called "Reverse Switch - on gear Box" (2 wires, both of them Black / White), and in the trunk on the R/H side their is a "Reverse Light Terminals - Spade connectors (Black / White). The description of these connections were found in the owner's manual.

Does anybody know how to connect all this so a back up light can be fonctionnal?
I also want to let you know that I found the switch on the transmission.

Thanks, for your help.

Francois.

hi blas. well i do not own one as of yet, looking at buying one from a guy here in canada but not sure if i am going to need the back up lights when i transfer it over to my name. its a high #1700 car. so i figured i would look into before i take the plunge, things here in canada are a pain when it comes to these cars seems like they dont want anyone to have them so they look for everything to keep them off the roads.

I have heard that the back-up lights may not be necessary. Search for a thread about this subject within the last 6 months or so. There was also an issue with daytime running lights, also probably not required in Canada. It might depend where in Canada you are though...PM me for any other info you need...
I made the wiring diagrams for all 3 versions of the car...You'll see many posts about them in this forum....Examples are in my gallery...
Depending on your transmission, the reverse switch is already in place. What you need is a light, power source, fuse and a ground. I have seen the switch wired both + and - depending on your preferences.
