Team Shelby Las Vegas
I just got back yesterday evening from the Team Shelby event in Las Vegas. I had the opportunity to run the car on the drag strip and had a great time, tried to sign up for the other events but did not get on the list soon enough. I did get the results from my run on the track and the following information is provided:
Reaction Time: .090
60': 2.190
330': 5.443
1/8 mile: 8.053
MPH: 95.75
1000': 10.292
1/4 mile: 12.183
MPH: 115.44
This was my first time on a drag strip and I had a lot of fun running the car on the drag strip. The timing lights were not clearly delineated at the end of the track and a series of 3 cones marked the trip lights at the end of the 1/4 mile. I was letting up on the gas at the first cone and found out the the trip lights were at the 3 cone. The course timer pointed this out to me and my speed increased but not my ET. The fastest speed posted was 121.44 mph, with an ET of 12.551. I met some of the people from the Las Vegas Club but did not have a lot of time to spend with them due to family etc., got to talk with them briefly and I am looking forward to participating with them in the future. Overall event was run well and the Shelby staff were great to deal with.
