Anyone Recognize this VIN Number?
I am looking at a Cobra with the VIN number SVMXX15571. The owner describes it as a Superformance Backdraft. The photos supplied of the car are not sufficient to allow me to determine the manufacturer. Obviously, the car cannot be both. Does anyone have an idea of the manufacturer based on the VIN number given above?

That is NOT a Superformance. I do not believe it is a Backdraft either. Classic Roadsters maybe?
|
I would guess it's from Shell Valley.
If the owner thinks it's a Superformance Backdraft then maybe it's a scam? Post a pic of the engine, front fenders and rear fenders and we can tell if it's SPF or Backdraft. |
That definatly looks like a Shell Valley serial #. From the # I would guess it to be an early to mid 90's build. That was before the current owner bought Shell Valley, so unfortunatly I don't think I would have much info on it.

Wow. That has got to be one of the biggest conglomerates of crap in one ad I've ever seen.
It's not a Backdraft, or an SPF. Nor is it an AC Mark III, nor does it have anything to do with Roush. I'd love to see the "original" car that was splashed off of. And 20k for a small block Chevy??? It better make 1500hp. Then he claims he's selling his toy collection because his wife had a baby? He's got like a dozen cars listed. Must be some baby!! |
NOT a Classic Roadsters
$20K for the engine "no expense spared" hmmmm. What about that old distributor and the rusty vac advance? I don't know about this one. :JEKYLHYDE |

He should probably be reported to ebay for misleading info at least.

Love the Mayberry police car............;)
|
in todays market that car is worth no more than 20-23,00 dollars, maybe less. Wrong dash, wrong roll bars ( what is with the mounting of those things?) definitly wrong engine, wrong wheels, wrong color. Has there ever been a replica that was not splashed off an original CSX car?;)
|
I like the trick "PCV valve delete" look of the driver's side valve cover with the hole left open to flow fresh air... but nothing beats the huge autostick shifter sitting on top of the small block Chevy automatic trans (note the ATF dispstick in the rear).... wow :JEKYLHYDE:JEKYLHYDE:JEKYLHYDE

What manufacturer puts 2 of the roll bar legs inside the cockpit in front of the body? That really cuts down on the leg room.
This pic is for I2F ... a DARE cop I know .... http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...Spindles04.JPG |
It looks a whole lot like a Shell Valley to me.
Not sure about the placement of those roll bars, though, You're going to lose like 3" of leg room. Your pal, Meat. |
Definatly not a Classic Roadster. My VIN starts with CR and the doors are not streatched.
