There is an after market push button for the Mustang. You remove the lighter and install a start butten into the same hole. It is the system I am looking for. You turn the key on and do not twist to the start position. The key retains the accessory function and the lock function. I had another post regarding the ignition key spinning even though I have tightened by holding the assembly and tightening the assembly knurled surround. I am afraid of damaging the dashboard face.

In my Backdraft, it had a ugly red starter button on the dash. I bought a simple, but attractive lighted blue stainless start button, I purchased on Amazon or $25. Simple replacement and it works great!!

I found a push-to-start button option on the Superformance build sheet. It was dealer (Crown) installed.
The button glows red when the ignition is turned on.

Dave and SNAKE65 - it's a push-here-dummy (PHD) button
