Default Looks like a great deal on a SPF

Check it out, it appears for real, Heck of a deal

eBay Motors: Replica/Kit Makes : Superformance (item 160213899808 end time Mar-07-08 18:52:10 PST)

2002 spf with 460 bigblock and 5K? miles for 43,900. Not a big fan of 460 but it is the same price as a roller, anyone know the car? I apologize if my link does not work it is on ebay under superformance.

Default The link works

Madmaxx,
Your link works and you are indeed correct, that will be a really good buy on a car with less than 5k miles. As of now, only two bids @ minimum and +$100 with the reserve not yet met-not a surprize!
Mine was a bit over $10k more 9 years and 17,000 + miles ago, but I am still happy & driving the snot out of it.
We will be heading up to a Texas Cobra Club monthly meeting in less than an hour, and someone can get a REALLY good buy on a GREAT car in this one!
Good luck to the buyer,
Joihn Russell

Here is how my math adds up. 43,900 plus 2,743 (taxes) = $46,643 (not including shipping). In texas on the first time you register a newly assemlbed vehicle you do not pay taxes (do not argue please i have the tax law in front of me) so I save $2,743 if buy new, but i prefer a roush 427r so add $14K to the $43,900 and we are at $60,343 including taxes. Which is to close to price of new car.

In summary excellent deal if you want a 460 or just have to have a SPF, but you will loose if you try to swap powertrains. I would snatch this one up in a heartbeat at $46,643 but mine is in the delivery room!!

Seeing i have lost more in the stock market this year they are all incredible deals!!!! LOL

Jrussel,

A gentlemen had the same car for sale in Houston with 1700 miles back in december with 460 and he was asking 61K. Deal like this are few and far between, I would imagine this car should be priced at $51K

Terrific deal on a low mile SPF IMHO, would think the reserve should be 10K higher but maybe its the winter/economy thing. Go for it

I bid 35K on it to see how quickly it went to reserve.
Then I get an email from eBay saying the reserve had been lowered to $41.7K.
I go to eBay to "Buy It Now" and while I reviewed the pictures before I hit the button, I get an alert saying "bidding has ended for this item with buy it now".
It sold at 11 am something EST.
I called the seller to say I'd buy it cash for $43K and He said he couldn't go against his word to the buyer and his reputation (100% feedback) which I can understand and respect. If the deal falls through, I get first dibs, but I doubt it...
Missed it by a ----hair!

why did he lower his reserve? Must have taken it on trade and wanted to close the deal on the new car.

$41,700 was a damn good price for the buyer, especially if he was asking for 61K just a few months ago. The seller really was motivated to get the $$$$.

From the description, I would think that $47K to $49K was the right price range.

Ray - get in touch with seller and make sure he can contact you if the current buyer defaults.

Warren, 61K really? Mmmm, mysterious for sure. Intrigued me as it's about 250 cars younger than mine and around same mileage, and Royal Blue was always my favorite color. Badges weren't even installed. I did leave my contact info but he said he had the check in hand. Must have been a local buyer, or someone in the next sales office He's a Nissan dealer.

Everyone

Sorry for the confusion, it was not this car for 61K but an identicle car with 1800 miles with the 460 engine in Houston.

How much does SPF chassis number affect price, in other words if someone has chassis 2000 vs chassis 1000 and the cars are identicle in condition and mileage and engine is one worth more than the other?

If they were both stock( as they left the factory) and of equal mileage/condition, the later should be more valuable. There have been many upgrades between the 2 #'s listed and that alone makes the later one more valuable. Now..many owners have performed some or all of the upgrades and more, so that plays into the value as well. But on a straight across basis the later car , equally equipped, should be worth more. Especially with a good windshield

Whoever bought it got the lead from your post, madmaxx, and is now trying to FLIP it, obviously. A thanks to you would have been appropriate, yes?
Cheers!

Is car still sitting in the Illinois showroom, or has it been moved to Ohio?

#1401 chassis ('02 build). By the time you pay state taxes and register (assuming you have to go through both before you could flip and re-sell), I can't see where that leaves much room for a quick flip. That would put the car in the $45-46K range, which is the normal sweet spot this car should have originally sold within (unless it had a LOT of really nice upgrades...I didn't look at it too close). Then maybe high $40's, at best.

Just another example though of if you're patient and time the market correctly, you can buy a really nice Cobra under market prices.
