Dynamic / D&M

Guys, can someone explain what happened with Dynamic and Superformance? The telephone number at superformance.com now goes to D&M in Illinois.

Is D&M the new marquee SPF dealer? They have about 20+ SPF's in their showroom.

Where does that leave Dynamic? Does D&M do service? I know Dynamic does. It all seems perplexing.

I was there (Ross, OH) a couple of weeks ago. My understanding is that Dynamic Motorsports was purchased by Dynatech (sp?). At that time, it appeared to be the same people and same services as before. Don't know what the prognosis is though.

Did you try the number on Dynamic's website?

I know that they sold Dynamic in Reno and it's now Dynamic Auto West.

BTW - D&M and Dynamic are different dealers.

This is true. Matt my sales guy from Dynamic is now working for Dynatech and they are still partnered with Eric at Performance Engineering for the drive train installs.

I purchased from Dynamic in Ohio about 6 weeks ago. Don't know who owned them at that time, do not know who owns them now, what I do know is there service has been second to none.

Everything from ordering the car, drivetrain selection, service after the sale, and registration.

Paperwork was in order with invoices for all the components, drivetrain and MSO. It is the people running the business which makes it sucessfull not the owners.

The SPF 800 number rings to the dealer assigned to your area code. Thus if you call from Illinois you get D&M. Call from Southern Californication and you get Hillbank.

Mark, this explains a lot.

I bought my SPF from Kayalami Inc. (rossioncars.com) I think they bought the Dynamic ross ohio branch. and are going nuts over a roisson cars thing/noble replacement.

Ian was top notch on the deal, and johnny on the spot with many helpful things.

D&M has it's own service/installation department. "Snakepower Performance."
Brian, does a first class installation and works on each car like he ownes it. For those of you who know me and the level of quality I expect when my car is serviced, that is saying something. You won't be disappointed with his work.

Correction, the guys that own Rossion/Kyalami Automotive are the previous owners of Dynamic Motorsports Cincinnati and Reno. They had sold off both branches to pursue the Rossion. Dynamic Motorsports in Cincinnati was bought by Dynatek racing and they still have the same sales staff, parts manager, and mechanics.

I recently purchased a MKIII from D&M and they are willing to help out after a few minor issues when i first got the car.

D&M puts many, maybe most, of its cars on eBay and they seem to have a good feedback, not perfect mind you, but good. Could you enlighten me as to your difficulties with them? They advertise some nice cars for sale and I have been interested almost to the point of bidding on one or two. I did have a conversation with a Kevin there not too long ago, but other than sounding like your typical car salesperson, he seemed alright. I do know that they did not answer virtually all of my emails, whether from their website or via eBay.

I purchased a MKlll from D&M last August and had the associated service department (Snake Power) install the engine and transmission. The sales staff at D&M was first-rate. They explained the car in great detail, answered all my questions, and left me alone to make up my mind. Absolutey no high pressure sales tactics. The guys at Snake Power were equally top notch. They gave me engine and transmission options, listened to my comments, and then offered recommendations. The car was ready on the agreed upon date and at the agreed upon price. All in all, it turned out to be a great package that was well thought out and impecably crafted. I'm sorry you didn't have the same experience as I. Please share your comments so the forum may benefit from your experience.

Richie, please explain your issues with D&M.

ekrupa2 06-10-2008 04:27 AM

I also purchased #2632 from D & M. Worked with Kevin in sales and all was smooth...from the moment we agreed upon a price until the time they helped me load it on the trailer. I purchased my powertrain directly from Roush and did the install myself...but Ward from SnakePower set me up with major hard to find components for the install. I even found an issue with the license plate light after bringing the car home (they scratched it when putting on the dealer license plate frame) and Kevin overnighted me a replacement. So far i have nothing but great comments about D & M. Just my experience.

RodKnock 06-10-2008 09:24 AM

Sailfish and ekrupa2, thanks for the replies regarding D&M. I appreciate the comments.

Ritchie18, please post further information about your non-recommendation. Thank you.

Richie18 06-10-2008 09:20 PM

Even though i had a few issues with the car D&M is willing to help out. If everything goes smoothly i would do business again.

ekrupa2 06-11-2008 03:25 PM

Sorry to hear of your experience. Regarding the AS-IS warranty - I believe that states the warranty is offered and maintained by the manufacterer versus the dealer (I have received similar paperwork on even my Fords) . Not sure who the "other guy was" as I dealt with Kevin and Ward...and they were both extremely helpful.

Regarding the wheels, $3500 seems a touch high but can only compare to what Vintage Wheels sells for (around $2K for 17' unpolished)

Hopefully you have only pleasant expereinces with your SPF going forward, and congrats on the purchase!

So what are the Rosen's doing? Anyone know?

I know the guys at D&M. Sure, they can sound like "used car" salesman during a conversation, but I think they are usually on the up and up with customers. -At least they have been with me in the past.
Sounds like they dropped the ball on the seatbelts though and they should have been up front about that. Perhaps even offered a discount on them for good will.

I don't know Brian from Snake Power; is that a new outfit? Sounds like he's getting good feedback though.
They used to have all of their installs & engine work done at St. Charles Motorsports. Alex and his guys over there were top notch as well.

Running "Rossion Cars" the sucessor to the Noble.

Blas 06-11-2008 07:04 PM

Ward is no longer associated with SnakePower or D&M.
Brian is their chief installer / parts guy / repair guy / Q&A guy / etc. right now.
There have been some changes at D&M since Mike Sr. passed away late last year and also some transition time after his loss. Mike Sr. was quite visionary in his business focus. I'm sure it took a while to get back to business as usual at D&M and to redefine the rolls and responsibilities of the sales and service people...
