Rod,

Let me say first that Keith and I talked about the cam, and the system "will" take more cam, and make more power/trq.

My cam is slightly bigger, though close enough, but has a 112 LSA. What's exactly involved with making the Dynatek system operational on your car?

Well, if your motor is already in your car you have a leg up on me. After installation you will need to have it tuned. There is a "standard" tune for an FE on the box, but depending on the headers you have, and other variables, you will want to have the system tuned on a chassis dyno. My motor will again be tuned after installed in the car.

The DynaTek system comes with the software to tune it, but you need someone that can tune.

The only mechanical thing that I can think of was the fit from the intake to the heads and block. It needed work, but not much. Keith might be able to explain what they did, I do remember it was $180 to fit the intake to the heads and block.

E, yup, thankfully, my car is up and running. Where does the computer get mounted and I assume a sidepipe is drilled for the O2 sensor? I'm just trying to assess the difficulty factor in hooking up one of these setups. What was the "fitting" all about? Did they have to mill the intake and/or heads for a proper fit?

Well, the box for the injection system will be under the glove box, and the 6AL will be in the engine compartment, "unless" they will both fit under the glove box.

I am going to get the small individual runner K&N filters, and have a chassis tune for both, no filters, and the K&N filters. I will not be using the "booties".

The side pipe is drilled and a bung fitted (welded) between the muffler and where the collector is, about as far back to the muffler as you can without getting into the muffler.

The fit between the intake and and the block and heads was not "true" to my understanding. I'll check with KC and see if I can get you a better explaination. But it could not have been much as it was only 180 bones. I'll check.

Progress!

The engine has moved into the same room as the roller, and will soon be installed!

Pics! The picture with the air filters is a trial, I have the shorter stacks and will try to see if I can run filters.

KCM does a nice job wrapping the car to keep dust and such off of it.

Yeah, they look puny in the back.

The 305's were the best tire size (IMO), but even if you could get them they would be the BFG's......BOOOOOOO!!!!

ThIS IS exciting Eric. Many years ago I had one of the first Turbo Carreras and nobody could understand why I let my buds drive it. The reason was like this thread. Everyone enjoyed the experience. What's more is we shared it. Keep it up and congratulations.

Your car is still in Arkansas? I would really like to crawl around and check out your setup. If, ahem.....I could hook up with you at a STL CC meet?
I have been thinking hard about changing out the DQ's for FI.

Line, the engine was built at KC's place in Arkansas, and now it is with the car at KCM in Plano Texas.

I will sure make the car available. I am already a member of Fords Unlimited here in da Lou-Town, and I regularly miss all the meetings

I am hoping to make some events in 2009, have to make a better effort.

beautiful car.

curious though, I've heard that individual filters on a stack/weber set up will hurt top end hp by limiting airflow. Have you had your engine dyno'd with and without the filters installed, and if so, did they affect hp at all?

Eric- Those Avon's DO look a skinny in the back. Are they 275's or 295's?
Oh well........they could be 245's and still have more grip than the 305 BFG's!

I like the look of those filters. Where did you get them? It will be interesting to see what (if any) changes in dyno figures will be with / and without filters.

This is becoming not only a very fun / interesting thread to follow, but also quite an informative one as well - especially to those looking into a FI system and/or thinking about purchasing Avons.
