Back in the dark ages I messed with Austin-Healys and MGs. Along with the usual "Lord Lucas, Prince of Darkness" jokes, some suggested that Smith's instruments were assembled in a dusty coal mine and packed in brine for shipment.
I expect they've improved a bit since the 60's.

Default Fuel injection pressure

PANAVIA, I think I read that you are running fuel injection. I switched out my Autometer to the Kirkham units because the mechanical Autometer fuel pressure guage would not accomodate the higher pressures that are run on FI. Something to think about before you get too deep into the mechanical units. The Kirkham units are very nice and very ez to install as they fit the same holes and are thin.

Good luck.

Switched to the AutoMeter "Cobra" series gauges and now I can see them at night. No problems in 8k miles.

For those that are interested Pete Brock wrote up a very detailed narrative on each of our gauges as he tested them. It can be found at http://www.thomaskirkham.com/BREGauges.html
