That bubble looking thing maybe the tip of a screw from the other side. Mine was. I took the door off and took all the material off. Sanded it smooth then reglued everything back together. My spf was #995. If you are talking about a new one I have no idea what the problem is because my second spf #2743 didn't have any problems.
Hope that helps...........

They may have used stronger glue. an interior shop should be able to fix this.

I had the same issue on my SPF glove box door. The way I found to take care of it is get a washer just a bit larger in diameter of the circumference of the lock set. Paint the washer back, un-do the lockset and place the washer betweem the lock and the box door on the front. When you re-assemble and tighten the lockset, the washer will push down and hide that imperfection. The washer will blend in with the color of the box cover and you will bearly see it. Trust me, that thing bothered me to and this looks MUCH better. Hope it helps.

thanks for the posts everyone, i fixed it. i removed the lock and reglued around the hole got a new longer lock with a plate that goes on the inside of the glove box to keep it from turning as you tighten it down, now the lock is nice and tight and does not twist when you go to open the glove box with the key, so it worked out well

thanks to all who posted
