Have you checked your rear-end alignment and tire camber?

Well, I went for a ride today and it was 40F. Hit a little bump and there was the fuKOIU noise again. No way could I have that bottomed out the tire on the fender. To make a long story short I beleive it was the sway bar bushings. I was trying to move all the suspension parts and as I grabbed the sway bar I heard a groan noise. So I lubed the COMPLETELY dry bushings with some rubber friendly silicone grease, no not KY rubber lube LOL!!! It was the first time I let the car down and did not here a groan. I will take for another ride tomorrow and update.

It appears I had two noise makers the tire touching off on huge dips, and I hope this sway bar bushings. Very very easy to lube couple 1/2" bolts and lube them up. Bewilders me why you pay $60K plus for a car and spf cannot use .05 cents worth of fuking grease, oh I disgress.

Max - So did you lube the bushings in place or remove the bolts and lube them? The noise you're describing sounds very familar. I hadn't driven my car in a couple of weeks and heard some creeks when I hit the first couple of bumps.

I just got back and preliminary results are fantastic, I guess it was making some noise the whole time because not it is perfectly silent but I will go out tomorow morning after it sits all night and that will be the final verdict.

First there is no way to get hurt in lubing the sway bar bushing , nothing is spring loaded etc. The best way I found was to take the 1/2" bolts out of the half circle sway bar bushing support and then loosen the the verticle attachments enough to slide the bushing out. That way you are guaranteed to lube it completely. Make sure you use silicone based lube and not axle grease, Regular dino greases will degrade the rubber over time. You just smear and slide it back in to place and tighten. My were bone dry and no my car has never seen rain it only 6 months old so nothing ever washed away etc.

Just got back from a drive, full tank of gas 275lb neighbor as a passenger and zero nada noise. passenger side suspension was at 26.5" with neighbor in the car, I hit every bump dip I could find at every speed, turn etc, at 42F and zero noise, the only noise is the trunk support rod. I seriously wonder at this point if I ever did rub the fender, I did see a what i perceived as a rub and wax on the tire but who knows. Lubricating the sway bar bushings is not an option they were obviously making minute noises all the time, although the car is not any more solid than it used to be the perception is that it is since i hear no growls, scraping, squeaking noise when i hit bumps. Stupid little sway bar bushings, who would have guessed.

I used Krytox but it cost $$$$$$$, in other words a tube of grease you usually pay $6.00 for the equivalent amount of Krytox is $400.00 I suggest getting some dielectric tuneup grease for $3.49 at autozone. It is silicone based and the same grease you use on spark plug boots etc. It will work perfect.

Dropped the ride height to 26.5" and not a whisper, full tank of gas. Before you waste 2 hours playing with the ride height lube your bushings. I cannot beleive the sound they were making but no doubt that was the cause.

I should have titled this thread rear suspension groaning/scraping/ bottoming out noise that way when the next poor guy experiences these noises it will show up in the search.
