Default SPF Cam change while motor in vehicle

Has anyone changed the camshaft in a SPF with the motor in the car? The motor is of the windsor family. If so what advice can you pass on? Thanks

Pull the engine. The crossmember in front of the pulley will ding the new cam. Sure you can loosen the motormounts and raise the engine. Pull it........2 cents worth....

Would have to agree with Ed. You also may not be able to simply lift the motor enough due to limited bell housing and tranny clearances. I got into it pretty thick when my fuel pump eccentric dowel pin started to recess into the cam bore (wrong size was used by the manufacturer...1/4" too short! ). This is the same extent that you would need to go to for pulling the cam and there simply isn't enough room.

I suppose you could remove the engine mounts, loosen the tranny and pivot the engine upward. But you would really have to get the car off the ground for clearance. Bad cam or just wanting something more/less aggressive?
