Default SPF Cooling System - Rock solid.

Just got back from a Sunday run with BACC and meeting up with the Nor-Cal dudes. and we got (Tan, Lane, Me, ) got stuck in some heavy (HEAVY) traffic on the way back from Marin County.

The Superformance Cooling system kept my little beastie at 82C water and 90C oil the whole time in monster SF traffic.

No doubt, spf has plenty of cooling, i got stuck in traffic last summer 95F and with both fans running it kept it at 80C on water.

Sounds like a great run...bummed I missed it. Is 90c the top your oil temp gets with with the oil cooler blocked off? I still have my oil cooler blocked off and it doesn't get much above 100C.

Steve your lucky you don't have a big block in a SPF...becuase 82C would not be the case in heavy traffic...unless you have a fan over ride switch and keep the fans on and eventually drain the battery.

I have the BB. Been stuck in traffic many times in the summer heat of 95 to 100 degrees. The SPF never gets above 90C with the automatic temp fans. The only thing that over heats is me.

BB 460 Spf, zero problems on overheating in any traffic, at any temp.

Dont...My fan sensor activates above 95C...thats why I use the overide to keep the temps under 200F while sitting in 25 miles of bumber to bumper...luckily it doesn't happen too often.

T E Lewis...Running hot and overheating are too different things...I just don't run at 82C like a small block....im glade you have no problems.
