Sounds like your "small semi-exotic car dealership in Pheonix" or the dealer they used did a dodgy fit to me... If you have evidence (receipt) that it was an SPF dealer that fitted an incorrect SPF part, I'd go back to them and hold them accountable...I'm sure that SPF themselves would like to know that they have my have a dealer that's not representing the company appropriately.

I agree, it looks to me that your best bet is buy a windshield frame and glass from a SPF dealer and have them install the lot...

I think to judge and then post on a forum your criticism for the entire SPF company is a bit over the top Romm. Just go to a well know SPF dealer and get them to fix your problem.

All these broken windshields. I have my body off for paint and I was extra careful not to break my windshield when removing/storing it. I put it in my bedroom wrapped up against the wall in the corner. My wife still managed to crack it with the vacum cleaner! She panicked and called Unique, Mrs Weaver assured her of two things:
1. I wouldn't kill her for this accident.
2. They could sell me a replacement glass.

Since she bought me the lift for may birthday I didn't get too upset.

Replacement early model SPF windscreens have the Shelby name on them. They are a direct replacement for the CSX. Late models do not have the word Shelby on them. They are not interchangable.

Romm ,,, for you to criticize the company Superformance, because YOU purchased a used Cobra from some small exotic car dealership in Arizona, and then to base your buying decision for a Brock Coupe on that experience is to say the least.............RIDICULOUS!

Diegokid, how hard was it to change out the glass? Did you follow one of the procedures discussed earlier in this thread? I took a rock on my windshield and I'm sure I'll eventually have to replace it.

What do they have to do with anything? Those guys were great to deal with! They took the car to Anthem Motors to replace the windshield before I even knew the car was for sale. They are the ones who gave me the receipt after I went and looked at the car and bought it.

Having a beautiful Indigo Blue and Titanium beast with a 554HP 427R Roush that runs like a top sitting in your garage and being undrivable because of a frickin' windshield - that is rediculous BRYCE

And this is after trailering the car for 6 hours round trip to Vintage Motors for a glass replacement (with a rented trailer) only to find that the glass that I had waited for 2 months to come in would not fit my car...
And then waiting another few months for the proper glass to to arrive which never did.
After I installed the Lexan (which the guys on this very forum gave as an option) I stopped calling the poor guys at Vintage Motors. But I never did receive a phone call saying the glass had ever come in (it probably never did).
My car was sidelined over a windshield, BRYCE. Damn right I take this into consideration on if I buy another SPF. It is my money, not yours.

I dealt with Anthem Motors in Pheonix, Az. and Vintage Motors in Humble, Tx. At the time I am sure both were well know. I also talked with a guy name Barry who at the time was the parts guru for SPF if I remember correctly. From what I understand, the glass comes all the way from South Africa and there was a shortage of it at the time I guess. The guys at Vintage Motors were great to deal with and they do great work. I can't blame them if it takes so long for them to get windshields, or if SPF sends them the wrong type. That is the company's fault. I don't see why it is over the top to judge and criticize them for this on a forum. On a positive note, this is the ONLY issue I have had with the car, which is now nearly 5 years old and has almost 11,000 miles on it. Well, that and the emergency brake is basically useless! Is there a fix for that yet? Need to do a search here...

The fix for the emergency brake is a twelve foot rope with a cinder block. Throw it out when needed and reel it back in before leaving.

Don't waste your time or money on any replacement parts.

Is your parking brake on the driveshaft or rear brake rotors? Mine is on the driveshaft....didn't work to my satisfaction when I received the car new (it did not release completely and would drag). Rather than aggravate the dealer (and myself), I took some time and read the adjustment instructions in the manual. Very detailed procedure....there are 13 pages and 34 pictures covering the adjustment of the parking brake, so it is more than just tightening a single adjustment. (You will need to be patient and do it exactly as described.) My parking brake has worked great since.

Are you a member of SCOF? If you don't have a manual, there's an article in the SCOF tech library on parking brake adjustment.
