Default Superformance Genealogy

Though I have owned my car for over a year and did research on Superformance, as well as ERA and Backdraft, I have not found a sight that explains the relationship between the manufacturing company, Superformance, the dealers as well as the enterprises that sell parts for upgrading the cars. I recently was informed that Lance ( a name I have heard often) is the owner of Superformance. I thought he was a dealer. Does Superformance own the manufacturing company in SA? Anyway, I am sure that someone out there could supply a short genealogy or a link where I could educate myself. Basically idle curiosity, but would like to feel a bit better informed. Thanks, Rick

Do a google search of "superformance factory south africa" and you will see various references / sites detailing the Hi Tech factory that builds the superformance replicas of the cobra 427 sc, Brock Coupe and GT40 - also lists the dealer in the US.

Short answer: The Superformance franchise used to be owned by the people that run Hi Tech in South Africa. The entire name/franshise was sold to Lance Strander in So Cal and the network of dealers run their own franchises through Lance. They are now separate entities, though continue with DEEP ties to the S.A. factory.

Not known to be 100% accurate, Wikipedia provides a brief overview.

Here's an older article about the factory in SA (Hi-Tech Automotive Ltd):
