SPF Front tow hook.
New thread started to continue off-topic conversation in another thread.
Regarding one of my gallery photos...
Kevin:
The red part (hoop piece) of the tow hook can be unbolted if you like. But it's mounting bracket is bolted in place on the chassis. The finished assembly does not extend below the car any farther the the oil cooler shroud does, actually, it's up higher than the oil cooler shroud fiberglass, so there's really no reason to remove it. I would considering marketing it depending on the interest in the community. It was completed and installed over the winter, but with economic conditions being what they are, I have held back offering it.
It's cut on a water jet and powercoated. The hoop can be red or yellow. I also made another entire unit in aluminum...looks great, but I don't think its strong enough in aluminum...
Next is the rear prototype...

Looks great Blas! I think you'd have interest if you decide to sell it. I guess the other option would be to offer a silver painted piece.
BTW - What is the chrome piece on the left hand side of the front cowl? Just took a look again and realized it might be a fog lamp.

Correct...Lucas Flame-thrower driving lights....
If the interest is out there I will produce a run of the tow hooks...
I've added another image in my gallery...I can't seem to get it to show in the thread...

Can you take pics of the hook out of the car and, underneath where you have it bolted on ?
How much will one cost ?
Short story- I've wondered if the quick jacks we use today could actually be used to lift the car. A friend was helping me work on the car one day, I went to take a piss and when i came back, he was using my floor jack and quick jack to raise the car.
The quick jack held just fine and did not hurt the body !
I don't think I'll ever do it again but, if it held with no problem, I'll ask what about using it to tow a short distance ?
The pressure and weight would be more to raise the car, than pulling.
I have started a new thread about this question here.

Can these hooks be used to secure the car in a trailer versus the connection loop on the frame (front and rear)?

Kevin, please do not use the the quick jacks for anything. They are just long bolts. Superformance never meant them to be any thing but show.
