Just on a side note, Cashburn is a dealer also, I bet his customers feel all warm and fuzzy when he makes fun of my build and he is doing the same set up on a back draft. (rodknock, mr mustang, cashburn you guys always crack me up on here, i guess i should learn to respect my elders)
Step dad. real dad died. thanks for the concern.

Here are a couple pics of SP02969. I dunno, asking $71K for a nearly new 2010 model with this drivetrain package doesn't seem out of line to me.

I agree. That was a Roush show car and I believe the sticker was $105K or more? There's $3k in the air cleaner and valve covers

While it's not a build for me, it's beautifully done nonetheless.

I'll always have a soft spot for black cars with black sidepipes.

I agree Rod.

(I might,....do our organization's 2-seat sprint car in the black theme. I wonder if I should make a post about our goal of stopping texting while driving and ask what type of theme/colors/logo's etc. making the black on black one to choose from, It's popular right now) ?

I've also been trying to track how long each car was on the market, but it isn't easy as this information is not always available.

But, of the 118 cars I've been able to identify as sold, the average time on the market was 111 days.

To date I have tracked 216 SPFs for sale (mainly private listings, not dealers). The average asking price across all 216 cars was $52,935 USD. Here are the average asking prices broken down by model year:

1995 - $40,496
1996 - $41,500
1997 - $44,633
1998 - $46,498
1999 - $45,332
2000 - $49,667
2001 - $46,471
2002 - $49,037
2003 - $48,941
2004 - $50,742
2005 - $57,743
2006 - $61,726
2007 - $60,986
2008 - $53,370
2009 - $71,560
2010 - $71,500
2011 - n/a
n/a - $54,125

The greatest number of cars were 2005 models (39), followed by 2000 models (28), then 2006s (20), 2004s (19) and 2002s (18).

SP02898, which is a 2008 model, had been for sale on Cobra Country in Aug 2010 at an asking price of $82,000. It sold at B-J Las Vegas for only $59,000 (plus 10% buyer's premium). Ouch!

Not much...or at least not what I thought was a " priced to sell". Now, my car may be hurt by a small block, a unpopular color and high miles (10,000). As a small collector, whose garage has limited space, I churn the collection every couple years to create space for cars I intend to buy.. In August, I advertised a half dozen cars with the intent to actually sell three or four...soooo....three have sold and I will likely keep the others including the Superformance. Those cars (SPF) are just a ball to drive, talk about animal spirits. I drive it in the same weather and same roads I would a motorcycle and it is still a thrill. Knowing what I know now, if I could have found a used car in the right color and with the right equipment (for me) that is the way to go. But nothing is practical about a $50,000 toy so get what you want to see and drive, don't compromise for a few thousand bucks..my two cents.

Barret Jackson and auctions like them are not the best place to sell without a large haircut. The bidders there who are not buying the promoted, high dollar stuff are generally bottom feeders looking for a steal. The presentation at an auction like BJ on a car like an SPF is poor at best. They will talk up a Camaro Z26 clone or "tribute" car built from a six cylinder but dis on the SPF as a "kit".

One of those types of auctions would be my last resort if I wanted to sell. You sell under market, pay the fees and then wait for your money. Yeah, sounds like a good deal to me!

Need to count the buyers fee because that's what he paid. Not the best environment by any means to sell a replica vehicle but it demonstrates what you can get in a "gotta sell it now" situation.

Did not see a lot of cars "get what they're worth" at LV BJ this year.

Perhaps GFC affected, thus the outlier?

I realize this is a very old thread, but the recent thread about Hillbank pricing got me thinking that I should probably update it, once again.

To date I have tracked 428 SPFs for sale (mainly private listings, not dealers). The average asking price across all 428 cars was $56,744 USD. Here are the average asking prices broken down by model year:

1995 - $40,496
1996 - $52,257
1997 - $44,289
1998 - $45,543
1999 - $47,326
2000 - $51,273
2001 - $49,769
2002 - $52,600
2003 - $55,709
2004 - $54,701
2005 - $58,925
2006 - $63,342
2007 - $65,912
2008 - $61,195

2012 - $84,888
2013 - $84,466

And across the board, the average private sale (not Hillbank related ) has been $38,800-$53,400....I have not seen or heard of a documented private sale higher than $56,400, and that car was a 427 sideoiler, TKO600 equipped car in the standard Blue with White stripes, top and all other options with less than 1,100 miles on it (a 2010 SPF).

An FE equipped SPF sold here in MN this spring for $60K - private party sale. It was several years old and at least 2 owners deep.
