That is what I use, same brake setup as you have. I have a proportioning valve between the MC and the front and back brakes. I have it set so the back Explorer brakes grab first, then the Granda /GM Calipers (Front). I use to have Powerbrakes with my cable operated clutch before I went to a Hyd Clutch set up.
It doesn't stop as well as the power brakes did, but it stops the car.
