Default Caution - possible 3M clear bra issue

Had a 3M clear bra professionally installed on my new SPF before I picked it up at the dealer last fall. I’m beginning to see a slight yellowing of the white stripes under the film on the nose of the car. Anyone else had any issues with white stripes yellowing under 3M clear bras?

Probably not the stripes yellowing... it's the film

Got to agree here. My 3M spats have a yellow tinge to them. Can really tell on the white paint.

I would check with the place that installed it. 3-M covers their material with a five year manufacturer's warantee. I have a 2004 350-Z with it and it is still perfect over the headlight covers, no yellowing. I have it on a 2007 C-6 Vette and the same. This may sound stupid but is it really 3-M? There are a lot of cheaper films that say they are like 3M but are not, inferior quality of film and no where near the warantee. Check with the installer, it should not have yellowed, 3M will probably replace it free.

I've had the 3M on my car since new in 04 and, while it isn't white, I've seen absolutely no indication of yellowing. Had to pull one of the rear fender spats off to repair some damage last Oct. and the material was still clear.
I would tend to agree with BillK that the shop may not be using a true 3M product. If they are have them submit a warranty claim.

Thanks for the feedback.

After getting no satisfaction from the installer, I called the national 3M corporate office. They said it should not yellow at all and will replace it under warranty.
