CSX4000 ebrake connection?
Help.....
Anyone have a picture to show how the CSX4000/8000 cars using Baer/PBR calipers ebrake connection is set up? A picture of the installed cable to caliper at the brake end would be priceless.... Thanks Jeff |

So does the rear of the cable just simply slip over the hook and the adjustment holds it in place?
My end is a clevice type end which I can pin and use like a hook? Also my cable is a steel line that possibly needs a fitting to allow it to resist going back through the hole on the caliper that was used to feed the whole line through. Will post pics tonight.... |
If after you get the ebrake all set up it feels like it *might* hold the car well in a parking lot.....then you've got it factory correct. :JEKYLHYDE
In truth, the ebrake's don't work very well in the CSX cars and are not easy to adjust successfully. :( |

Here is what I have
So there must be a fitting to prevent the end of the cable from going back through the caliper bracket? Maybe set a simple pin in the end of the cable to make the connection.... |
See Mickmate (Nick) for advice. DC Doug is right as well....Don't count on having a "hill holder" type of E-Brake, IMHO.

Hey Jeff, it looks like you might have a little too much cable. The ferrule goes through the bracket and is held in place by a circlip. A pin through your clevis should be enough. We may need to do something with the cable length, check here for some ends you could use.
Lokar: Rear Brake Clevis Kits I have a bag of cable seals, I'll bet we could figure a way to crimp them on the ends. |
I live on a steep hill and with proper adjustment CSX4017,s E-Brake holds very well...........
