How to keep header bolts from coming loose?
I'm tired of tightening the header bolts every couple hundred miles. I even lost one of the passenger side bolts one time.
I know that several approaches exist (Nordlock washers, safety wire, stage 8 locking fasteners etc). Is there something that actually works?

I have ARP bolts, and then drilled a hole in each bolt head, then threaded lockwire between each pair of bolts. Been told it works, havent tried it in anger yet.

I had Stage 8 lockers on my FE for over 8 years with none ever coming loose.

My small head bolts have been there since assembly......one or two re checks after the first couple of runs and never look at them again......they do have to be made pretty tight....andvI use a factory sandwhich gasket......without sealer.......another thing...tighten from the center out....

I just switched to these and have found them great so far. Also, easier to install than some for the tight spots like the #8 cylinder.

For an FE use 1" long ARP bolts, not the cheap 3/4". Use antiseize. Never a problem.

ARP sells a stainless 1" bolt set that is pre-drilled for safety wire. You can get them from Summit. Ask for the NASCAR pack.

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions! I think I'll give the stage 8 bolts a try.

I screw studs (SS) into the head and use a serrated faced nut with lock washers.
Much easier to remove and install the headers if need be as well.
