electronic speed hut speedo & samoco reverse lockout module issues

I'm attempting to use the 2 pigtail wires off the t56 magnum speed sensor to run the reverse lockout and speedo w/o success. Is there a reason I can't do this??

I'm basically splicing into the 2 signal wires from the trans sensor under the dash and taking two wires to reverse lockout module and the original 2 wires from the sensor on to the speedo. I've swapped wires around but can't get the speedo to read any signal (pulses) when calibrating. reverse module not working correctly either. Its either always locking out reverse (0 volts to solenoid) or never locking out reverse (12 volts to solenoid).

I'm hoping I don't need to use both speed sensors on the trans (one for reverse module and one for speedometer...
