Terlingua Racing Stripe...
Hey Folks,
I don't post much, but I use Forums to find knowledge and experience. However, I am stuck.
Where can I find the Terlingua Racing stripe schematics/dimensions? I have looked everywhere and Googled the crap out of this.
Any thoughts or ideas. Thanks for your time!

Thanks for the quick response JWoodard,
Are the Terlingua stripe identical to the 289 F.I.A.? One or 2 of our club members live nearby, I can get measurements off of their cars.
I have a factory five and kept it in gel coat black for a few years and added a front nose stripe that looks a little like it but ain't close enough! I like the look and it's different from the usual style.
Thanks for the help with some of the dimensions. I like the avatar, the car looks fantastic!

here's what it looks like now. It's torn down right now and getting ready to go to the painters.

I don't know if they are the same dimensions or not, but here's what I suggest.
Layout a sample stripe on your car with some painters tape and experiment with the size and location until you get what looks good to you. I wouldn't be too hung up on it being exact to any Terlingua or FIA 289 standards, if there any. No one would know the difference anyway.
The stripe you currently have looks to be a bit wider than 4".

OH, MY STRIPE IS WAY OFF THE MEASUREMENTS!
I'll get with the painter and hopefully have a set design well in hand by then. Thanks!

I think the ‘Terlingua Cobra’ was a dealer scheme/edition for Shelby’s tribute cars… so you’re actually replicating a replica. The best source for correct color and dimensions would be to locate one of the original replicas… or find photos of them.

As Ron said above, there was no period "Terlingua Cobra"....the "Terlingua" cars were Mustangs!
Ron researched his FIA nose stripe in detail before he ordered his Superformance FIA from us so I would trust his dimensions if you want to replicate the FIA nose stripes.
