Foot Pedal Extenders

I found an add for foot pedal extenders on Amazon.com. At 5'5" tall, I need to sit way forward in the cockpit to comfortably reach the foot pedals. I'm practically leaning up against the steering wheel while driving. These foot pedal extenders are adjustable, with extension lengths between 2" and 6". Has anyone tried these? Do they work as advertised, and more importantly, are they safe?

Looks like those would work but for possibly more options, maybe try a site for little people like:

LITTLE PEOPLE DRIVING EQUIPMENT | Pedal Extensions I LEFT FOOT GAS PEDAL | LITTLE PEOPLE MOBILITY VAN AIDS | DRIVING HAND CONTROLS |

I wonder who has allowed this sort of thing to come onto the market?

There's no way on earth I would resort to something like this.

Get some new pedal assemblies made, engineered with some strength as a paramount.
