Fuel at start up
For those that use a mechanical fuel pump and 1 or more Holley 4bbl's try this prior to start up. On a cold engine take a small funnel and slip it over the primary float bowl vent tube, secure it with a small hose clamp. Carefully pour about a 1/2-3/4 cup of fuel into the funnel, check for leaks around the hose clamp, keeping a rag handy to wipe up any excess fuel. Pump the throttle a couple of times to fill the accelerator pump(s). Remove the funnel & install the air cleaner(s), check the timing and fire it up. The amount of fuel in the bowl will generally be enough to keep it running until the fuel pump begins to function and fills the float bowls.
If you have an electric pump this is not for you.
