Default hydralic slave

I've a Shell Valley cobra with the clutch & brake pedals mounted to the frame. The guy I got it from said the master and slave cly. are from a 62 Chevy truck.I'm in the process of hopping up the engine and changing to a T-5.The trans. that was in the car is a SROD 4-speed and the clutch took appox. 75 lbs. of foot pressure to disengage.(no joke). Since I have to make a new bracket to mount the slave cly. to the gearbox I was wondering if there is a better master-slave cyl. combo that would be less stressful to my left leg-foot combo.

Any major auto parts store, such as NAPA, can sell you a unit that works on Ford bellhousings for around $35.00. Check EIS or Raybestos.

Being that the tranny is being changed out, you might check out the McCleod HTOB (hydraulic thow-out bearing). It eliminates the need for a slave cylinder. No fork is needed. It is pretty expensive but worth it. All it is, is a line that goes from the master cylinder to inside the bell housing and pushes a piston that travels the throw-out bearing. Very easy to install.

For those contemplating using a internal hydraulic TOB, you may want to do a search on CC regarding the pros and cons. This topic has come up on a number of occasions and the responses of people using them is worth the search.
