The lever should rest on the diaphram and on the end of the bolt head of the adjusting screw with the actuating lever in contact with the plastic cam on the throttle shaft. When properly adjusted, fuel should be emitted from the accelerator pump nozzels with the slightest movement of the throttle shaft. However, with the throttle fully open, the accelerator pump adjusting screw & spring should be adjusted so that a .015 feeler guage can be inserted between the adjustor bolt head and lever to prevent the entire accereator pump mechanism from being "bottomed out" or damaged by over travel.
