Default vortex insert cones ?

hi members ,i have just joined you guys at club cobra and wondered if anybody has fitted these vortex cones made by Dynatech, and if so how much difference did they make to the db output of your pipes .Did it change the tone of the pipes?.i have a Southern Roadcraft cobra replica which is a british car ,it took me 5 years to build but i am very happy with the finished car. Some purists will cringe at the fact that the car has a chev edelbrock performer rpm motor but many cars in the UK have chevs in them and also Jag V12 motors ,rover V8 is also used as they are nice and light.I felt that the chev gave better value for money compared to the Ford at the time of my build ,this may not be the case now.The car was finished in 2000 and has only covered 3000 miles,it is blue,no stripes and has black leather interior in the style of the original, hallibrand replica wheels, single roll bar ,tremec 5 speed manual ,jag f and r suspension. All work was carried out by myself except interior trim which was done by trimmers and fitted by myself. It is always great to talk to fellow builders/owners and talk Cobras ,one of the greatest cars of all time,if you can,t afford a genuine one it,s great to own a replica one .i am now living in new zealand and am trying to meet a few owners here and start a local club meet, talk to you again soon ,regards Dave

Hi and welcome David

I have the vortex cones in my side pipe only, no backpressure and no db reduction that you can hear. They are fairly loud but then again cobras are suppose to be extremely obnoxious and loud aren't they?

David:

If you use the Vortex Cone,Dynatech installation requirements: Cone goes before the muffler with the tip of the cone pointed towards the primaries

Their web site does not recap actual testing results to validate the claim of dB reduction, other than claiming significant noise reduction
