Default Rotation of Goodyear billboards?

Members,

I am about to install GOODYEAR billboards on my car. I have always run radials and I do realize this will bring a new feel especially when cold. I see in many photos of these tires that each is position labeled LR, RR, LF etc... Does this mean it is a bad idea to rotate these tires from side to side every thousand miles or so? Being a bias tire should they always remain in their original position on the car?

Thanks for the help!
Jeff

It probably means the car was on the track. It's a common practice to mark the tires as they have been "run in" in the position noted. Often used on oval track cars because the circumference on the tires vary somewhat and they use this to provide stagger. On a street car drive it and don't bother rotating the tires. IMHO

I think it looks cool, those LR LR markings on the tires! Next time I redo my lettering I'm gonna add that for the 'look'. The only rotation my Bill Boards have seen is when 'drop the hammer' on that sucker!

Recently saw the LF RR type markings on a friends car and we don't even HAVE a race track currently.

Heck most of us don't drive enough miles to be concerned with it.

Even though these are bias ply tires they should maintain a specific directional rotation based on which corner they are on. It has to do with the way the rubber was wrapped on the carcus and the overlaping of the tread belt. Here is valuable link. Those of you already with Avons & Goodyears might want to check it out. Thanks to Roger Kraus Racing.

You don't rotate tires on Cobras. You can only rotate tires on vehicles which have all four tires the same size, ( Cobras don't) and it wouldn't do any good to go from left to right.

Unless you break them down off the wheels and switch them!
