Street Beasts Cobra - Anyone built one
Hey,
I purchased a Street beasts 66 "roadster" (Cobra) and will be getting it shortly. Has anyone built or know of someone who built a street beasts cobra and have any suggestions. Any information would be a great help, thanks

Just do a search here for StreetBeast and you'll discover lots of info.

I just got mine last week, after waiting 5 months. They left out the instruction manual, so I don't even have to throw it away! ![laughing](http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/images/smilies/laughing.gif) I've been out of town and haven't posted new pictures yet. StreetSnake was trying to get one built by the London show, but I don't think he did. He sounded a little frustrated.
I'm still doing an "inventory". I know I have 99% of my parts. I'm satisfied with the quality of the parts. I'm a little confused on some of the brackets, but I think it will get worked out. It will help to have some friends who have built hot rods or other kits before.
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!

Well I don't have a Street Beast, but I do have a CMC Cobra Kit from 1994. The previous owner bought it and did not finish it. In fact he didn't really do that much at all.
So far the kit looks really good. That must have been before the era when their sales practices and quality started to slip.

I am getting ready to pull the body and smooth it up and paint it. If you hadn't purchased it yet, I would tell you not to but since you have make the most of it. Mine, as well as others I've seen, will be very nice but I will have quite a bit of money in money with various modifications, etc. I think the price is what attracts people to their kit, but the problem i found is that many of the little stuff, as with other kits (hurricane, classic, etc) is not included and thats were things add up quick.
If you're not familiar with building cars I think it will be pretty difficult because the manual is not very good at all. Best of luck to you and I hope it turns out for the best. Let me know if I can help in any way. Also, if you decide to have some help with it let me know and I can put you in contact with the builder who is helping me.

I am not that familiar with SB Cobras but I don't see why you cannot use any type of after market pedal box. I used a floor mounted Tilton Racing pedal set with remote CNC reservoirs. I have a Tilton Racing hydraulic throw out bearing also so I use three reservoirs and master cylinders.
For a steering column I used a plain steel IDIDIT column. It's wired for turn signals, flashers and horn.

The streetbeast is set up for a pedal assembly from a mustang. I used one from a '84 gt, it bolted right in.

I used a steering column from a 84 Corvette. Got a tilt/telescoping model to fit in place. I have a CMC and they recommend a Chevette or a Firebird/Camaro with modifications. Not sure what the Streetbeast uses.

Mine is a '93 CMC cobra. I used the pedal assy. from a '75 mustang II, it bolted right in...and the tilt column from a '78 Chev Monte Carlo. It's a bit longer than the chevette and camaro column and would probably work well with the "stretch". The wiring for the CMC cobra is set up for the GM column and the colors match the wiring diagram.

We have a Street Beasts Cobra here in Tucson. The owner did not build it but I know who did. If you have questions perhaps I could put you two together. John

2007 thread I know but
anyone with a Street Beast out there?
I have one in my shop to finish for a guy. Just a frame, motor, trannie and body. And a couple of boxes with small parts.
Good looking kit. Time will tell how easy it goes together.

Dwight.
I built mine from the ground up, the only thing I didn't do was the paint work, if I can be of any help let me know. Do you have the manual, which isn't real good, but somewhat useful?
Earl

Yes I have a couple of manuals. Street Beast reprinted the Classic manual. Not bad for a Cobra build manual. I've seen a lot worst.
This is a 11 yr old kit with just the front suspension and the wrong rear end in it. The new owner had a shop to install a 428 and TKO600. Which is good because it's less for me to rework.
I had to change the rear end, pulled the trannie because it was missing the engine plate, there is a problem with the clutch fork that I'm working on. I may move the motor back to solve a couple of problems but I'll have to think about it for a couple of days. Motor sit pretty tall in the frame right now. I'll have to put the body on to check hood clearance.
Earl what rear end did you use?
What rims did you use?
I'll have a lot of questions before I finish with this one.
Thanks
Dwight
