Performance Calculator
Is there a web site available that will calculate performance based on car specs?

A decent 427 - not the worst, not the best, will go from zero to 100 mph and back down again to zero in less than 14 seconds. All thing considered, you can put together a pretty good argument that the 427 Cobra is the ultimate performance car, judged on any basis you want to name." Not that I know of but, there is a fine modeling tool from Patrick Hale called Quarter Pro that will and do it in spades. check out the website => http://quarterjr.com/about.htm

Thanks guys! I found a pretty simple one at http://www.letstorquebhp.com/calculator.asp I doesn't take into account tires or gearing, but kinda gives you an idea. Michael at Second Strike claims to have a pretty accurate one, but you have to belong to some registry before he will do your car. Thanks again.

If you want to get away from the web and get some pretty accurate info try G-Tech. Dash mounted, cigarette lighter power this will give you good data of your car's performance if speed and HP are what your looking for.

Thanks DrC. Is there a way to use the G-Tech, if you don't have a cigarette lighter?

I had a lighter installed for radar, garmin, g-tech etc. I wouldn't be able to say for sure. If I can located the manual I'll get back to you.

accessory plug
You can buy an accessory plug for $8 to $12 at the parts store and they are easy to install in a Cobra. One #12 wire to ground and one from the fuse panel. I mounted mine just under the dash. I use it for DVD player, cell phone charger and stuff like that.

Try this:

Interesting to see the differences in results calculated using the same data in different calculators.

This calculator is for correction to sea level after you have actual 1/4 mile, speed and weather data.

For one methed of testing I use the G-tech type with computer acquisition software. It's real nice to be able to see any speed to any speed, distance, Gs, and stuff while having the option to put up to 4 cars on one graph. It's important to follow the directions of the unit to ensure valid runs.
