Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most amps go up to ten?
Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.
Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's louder? Is it any louder?
Nigel Tufnel: Well, it's one louder, isn't it?
If by "sound" you mean volume, that will be more a product of the wattage of the amp and the sensitivity of the speakers, not their size.
Depending on the above, the 3.5" speakers may be plenty loud, but will probably not produce the best frequency response. Human hearing is 20 Hz-20,000 Hz. A 5.25" - 6.5" speaker would usually be needed to cover that range.
Having said that, I guess it's a little silly to comment on sound quality when discussing an installation in a Cobra, so crank 'em up loud and enjoy.
