Default website issues?

I noticed a few problems and wondered if other members were noticing these.

- some pages of threads will no open
- some times posting times out, and nothing happens
- some times posting times out, and then double posts?
- speed of site Normal and then very slow (drasticly)

thanks

.

I know there is a separate thread (long) going on this, but I thought I'd jump in and state that almost every day I have the 4th condition from your post (periodically runs VERY slow).

I now can get in to the other thread, but when I try to post it waits a while then goes white screen. (never says timed out).

Also seems to be a delay going into certain threads.

These problems are intermittent so, I feel for ya when trouble shooting. ( I used to be involved with networking years ago.)

I'll poke around when I can and let you know what I see.

Jon,

You are getting basically what I am. One page that I posted a post on in the all cobra Talk Forum my post went onto page 5 and in the forum list it only showed 4 pages for over an hour and I could never access the post. then all of a sudden page 5 showed up. Some threads I can't open, but a few minutes later I can. It almost acts as if I have two different things trying to handle my posts and stuff at the same time. And they just get hung and don't time out or give any errors. What we need to be able to do is contact CW or Brent or Jamo when we have one that is hung and let them look at it to see what is going on, but how do we do that. If we get loose from it to tell them then it is gone and it is intermittent as you say. I have been trying combinations of things such as pictures, attachments, plain posts, and so far nothing that seems to have a common thread. It happens to me in all forums.

Edit: Ok this post just went to the 4th green bar and stayed there. I copied it to try the Quick Reply and it told me it was a duplicate post. I went back and it was posted, yet I was showing that it had hung again. This is the first time this has happened to me.

Part of the behavior described sounds like it's a caching issue. What browser and version are you guys using?

Brent,

I am using I.E. 6 the same one that I have used all along in this computer and the newest version of I.E. 6 in the other computer. I have cleaned the cache out of them so many times they are starting to look worn. Also they both worked great the first week and still do on all other sites. I even have print outs of all the options that I have in all pages of I.E. so I have gone through them and checked to see if any have changed and none have. I do this with every new computer or software that I get so I will have a reference as to how it was and what options were set when it was working correctly. Also both versions are updated with the latest updates.

Edit: Ok this post took about 18 seconds to go in. It got two bars and then just set and then suddenly looked as if two pages flashed on for a split second and the post was in. Is there any way that I could call you or Ron or Jamo and have you watch as I do things so you can actually see what is happening?

Ron

Default Not to pile on.

I have been seeing similar problems. From my laptop (Windows XP and the latest Explorer, my desktop (Windows XP latest Firefox 2.0.0.xx), and my work Sun Sparc (Solaris 10 and Firefox 2.0.0.8). My Sparc is on a different network than my personal machines.

Damdfw,

I have tried Firefox with the same results as I am having with I.E. I also noticed that Don had posted he has a problem similar now with his Mac. Now I know why I never had any desire to go back as an instructor once I got out of these darn things. I would rather it break than this changing intermittent stuff.

I installed Zend accelerator shortly after getting the new server up and running. Maybe the problem. I made a quick change to something else to see if the behavior is any different for you. Let me know.

How about this one? Tried to go to the backdraft section and got this:

Service Unavailable

On a blank screen.

The bar along the top of home page allowing drop downs to local clubs etc is no longer available when you navigate away from the home page. Can this be restored?
