I know the owner of a Kellison. Post some pictures of yours and I'll try to hunt down pics of his.

Go to Kellisoncars.com if you want to register a car you can but not sure if it's being kept up. That site will bring you to an original Kellison site too.

Those are the main two I would go to. Also check out dogfightmag.com once in awhile a cool post shows up. I posted this a few days ago on there

I wonder if anyone here knew a John Hanson. He lived outside LA for most of his life and retired as a caretaker in Malibu for my grandfather and passed away in the 1980's. He was a collector of original, low mileage, low production numbered muscle cars. If he got a whisper of a rumor he would hunt it down and find out if a real car existed or not and try to buy it. When his wife found out she had cancer he sold his cars to my grandfather, but kept certain other ones that were never completed. Other than the muscle cars he loved finding uncompleted kit cars that sat around for years. I'm using the term kit car as generic. I remember opening one of the barns in Malibu and was wondering what all these heaps were. I grew up with all kinds of automobiles but this was something different. I knew about Byers, Kellisons and a few others but this was an education. He did finish the Byers before he passed though, but the rest still sit there covered and protected. I always joke 50 or 60 years down the road my daughters will find them and no one will know what they are. I know about forgotten fiberglass website I was wondering if there are any other sites that have info on these autos. Before Bill Harrah passed I did get copies of everything their library had on these cars, but it was limited. I always told John about my grandfathers friend Straus(Macy's and Straus dept stores) who had autos sitting for years never moved but would not sell them. I gave him his telephone number and was hung up on. Straus had the Duesy that Leno purchased in that Manhatten garage and a Bugatti Atalante at his pound ridge home.

One of the unfinished ones is a Stallion still uncompleted so does anyone know how to put a value on these older fiberglass units?

like i posted, if you would like specific info on the stallions your welcome to email me. parts identification, vin number locations...year identification..
etc., to post what i know and have would take up pages of posts.

if you have just bought the car, and need info, i have a list of owners and their car numbers. i could have background on it.

these cars don't bring a lot of money...they have a very small following.
they even bring less unfinished. as the parts supplies are meager to complete them....

thanks, Fred

Yeah I know but someday some of the old fiberglass pieces may get finished especially the Kellison ones. I always liked that drawing of Steve Sanford concept. Would love to see it on a J4. An Astra which was similar to the drawing was done.

Check out this thread there's a drawing here. Not sure if it's on the Kellison site. Bomonster that "artist" posted it.

I had an all red '79 Stallion, 302, automatic, under-car exhaust, A/C, no roll bar, bolt on chrome wire wheels. Sold it when my wife went back to work and thought she needed a car with a roof! (even though it had a roof and side curtains!) Wow...that was a long time ago! My daughter now has children almost as old as she is in the picture...

Hi Franklin and welcome to the Kellison Stallion community

I do not know if most of the owners are known, but in the Cobra Book from Trevor Legate, you can read : One satisfied Red Stallion owner was the 1982 Formula 1 World Champion Keke Rosberg, who purchase a low-mileage second-hand example.

A great recognition of the qualities of the frame and the car generally.

We expect pictures and story of your car

Fred's translation : this is just one of the finest replicas (presented at the past as an evolution of the Cobra), and the end of the car's story from Jim Kellison .....

Don't forget this is not only a copy but a 35 year's old collector.

and Fred is a very happy owner ....

I built a Stallion back in 1979 and sold it in 1980. I know, dumb idea. The vin # was 0979SA153XXA. Anybody know if it still exists? Thanks, Dennis
