Anyone on here from The Woodlands?
I'm likely going to be moving to The Woodlands soon and bringing my Contemporary with me. The place looks beautiful and tranquil, how will the locals feel with this firebreathing loud beast driving through their tranquil streets? Any local guys there having get togethers or anything? Any info is appreciated. I'm probably a few months from moving down there, looking at rental homes now, figured I'd live in a rental for a year or so before I decide what area of The Woodlands to buy in.

Welcome to Houston
767:
I'm Bill with the Houston Cobra Club and want to welcome you to Houston. Ian and Lynn are from The Woodlands and they are real Cobra nuts. They own a SPF with and just completed a FFR Coupe. Join our Houston group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/houstoncobraclub/
Sign up and you'll have access to the entire Houston group. We're a crazy bunch that meet the second Saturday of every month, rain or shine. Family, cars, food and fun, the HCC has no dues and no officers. We look forward to meeting you soon.

I live 15 miles SW of the Woodlands in Cypress. I joined the HCC in early 2009 and have never met a finer group of people. There are some very nice cars around Houston and yours will be right at home. If you just want to run around there's plenty of fast roads and scenery and if you want to hit the track, several members are active at a few of the Texas tracks. So come on and join the fun. But beware, its 365 driving days a year, and 250 of them will test your cooling system.
Jim
p.s. If you want to meet up while you are in town looking around, shoot me an email or PM and we'll come show you around and take you to lunch.

The Woodlands is a great area! And some folks have some $$ around there so they're used to some cool cars. I bought a '70 Chevelle SS with a 13.5 to 1 ratio 402 from a guy there!

The Woodlands is a nice area. We lived there about 15 years ago. We visited the area a couple of months ago and it sure has expanded. I never had a problem driving the car around but the weather during the summer will not only test you cars cooling system but yours as well.

You'll fit right in. I've been in The Woodlands for about 6 years now. There are a *lot* of car nuts in the area - Cobras, Panteras, Lamborghinis, Ferraris, muscle cars, and so on.
It's a great place to live too. There's plenty to do, people are nice, and so on. In fact, I've been commuting to Dallas for the past 4 years. If we hated The Woodlands, we would have moved 3 years ago.

You will be in great company. The guys from Houston are a very diverse group and they are some of the best Cobra owners around. Why don't you come down for the Cobra Round up in March. Usually around 200 cars show up for this event which includes a nice cruise to the Hill Country.
