Tracking Event Added to Texas Cobra Club State Meet Activities
*
For those interested, a ½ day of track time is being arranged at Harris Hill Road (H2R) as part of the State Meet this year. The tracking event is scheduled for Friday afternoon, March 26th and will offer participants an opportunity for spirited driving in a safe, controlled, learning environment.
*
H2R is a 36-feet wide, 1.8 mile, 11 turn asphalt road course just on the northeast outskirts of San Marcos. The track offers 150 feet of elevation change throughout the course and a challenging mix of on and off-camber turns mingled with straightaways up to 990 feet in length.
*
Space is limited, but Novice, Intermediate and Advanced drivers are welcome. 100% of proceeds above and beyond track rental and operating costs are being donated to Operation Comfort.
*
A website has been established for information and registration at the following link:
*
http://mysite.verizon.net/res909nt/jshel1/trackday.html
*
Requests for additional information may be directed to John Shelton (jshel1) at hurricanecobra@gmail.com

Gremlins have been eradicated.

Everyone should now be able to successfully "next" beyond the first page.

Please do all of the following:
- an online form including PayPal
- email me both of the completed MS Word forms (enroll.doc & techcheck.doc)
- print and physically bring with you a copy of the completed techcheck.doc

Thumbs up Harris Hill

Had I blast today at the Harris Hill Race way. The course is challenging and not too bad for a rookie. Kept it on the pavement all day and no spin outs. I was the only non mustang cobra out on the course. They all had power steering and I still did pretty good. The Cobra handled pretty good, way too much body roll so I need to add sway bars and adjust the rear coil overs. I think I hit 90 on a straight, so I wasn’t complaining since I had to slow down and make a hard right. It will fun with other cobra out there in 3 weeks.

Yes John I still need to do my pay pal.

Is there a plan already for cruising out to the track or are we still playing by ear at this point?

The track is probably less than 10 minutes to the hotel. I think we can post a map a time to arrive. I will let John Shelton handle than end of this event. I dont want to step on his toes. I would like to get there early and set my car up. SO I might take the trailer and equipment.

I am waiting on a sizing inventory, but a total of 8 loaner helmets are avaialable at the track. Of that, 2 are already reserved for participants signed up,

John:

Does H2R have track Transponder timing? If so, I'll hook mine up.

See you in two weeks.

I will bring an extra helmet. They do not have transponder timing. So dont bother hooking it up. The track is very easy to get to and should take less than 10 minutes to get there from the hotel.

Guys go to Exit 210 Yarrington way and go east. It is a much better road than through Aquarena Springs Road. I do believe Yarrington goes right into Harris Hill. Just and FYI

Yarrington does indeed hit Harris Hill Road and probably is the easiest way to get to the track.
