Awesome
I can't wait to see it in person. We have been missing having a blue ERA around.

Thanks guys!
Question: Should the air cleaner lid face the direction as in the picture, or the other way around?

The air clean is correct. The neon blue wires are not, unless you are pimping on Harry Hines. . Just kidding, VERY nice car, love them Billboards.

Haha, yeah, I wanted a different color on the wires, but that is the closest I could come. Not as bright in person. Also, I can't seem to find the wire holders that attach to the valve covers anywhere.

Black wires from Taylor with the labeling removed using CRC brake cleaner. Separators available here from Mustangs Unlimited.

Also, I got the taller K&N filter and am working on a custom drop base so it will fit under the hood. Once all that is done and the temps drop a bit, it's off to the dyno for a final tune.

Hi all,
Quick highjack of this thread. I bought a street beast kit from a guy in Plano and he furnished a bill of sale. It is just a rolling chassis right now. Do I need to start the titling process at this point?

No, you don't start till your car is ready to be inspected by the DPS Waiver site in Plano. You make an appointment with them, bring your insurance card which describes your vehicle as a '65 Ford Cobra Replica , they give you an inspection report (green sheet that is not green) then you go to the title office with your receipts.
In your case, it would be a real good thing to have the MSO or MCO from Street Beasts. The guy should have given it to you since he did not register it. It will be evidence of the VIN and that you are not using stolen parts. If you do not have access to that, then you will probably be able to get it done, but it might not go as smoothly. The title clerks need all the help we can give them 'cause whoever you get will probably be doing her first kit car.

I do not have the MSO or MCO from Street Beast and I think they are out of business. I will call the guy and see it he has it, but I doubt that he does. What does MSO or MCO stand for?
Thanks.

Manufacturer's Statement of Origin, Manufacturer's Certificate of Origin. This document is provided by all manufacturers of street vehicles and is a pre-requisite document for a title. Normally, you never see it unless you are a dealer because it is turned in with the title application. You may not need it if you represent your car as an assembled vehicle and maintain that you built it from components. There may be an extra step required to assign a VIN. I have not been down this road. But there has to be a path for a scratch build car, so maybe another Texan has been through this.

Went to the tax office and it does not seem to be a big deal not to have the MSO or MCO.
Thanks.

With the new law that went into effect Sept 1, 2011 it should be real easy now. Plus you can now register it as the year it replicates!
