OK so we will see everyone who is going at around 8:45 at the Texas Roadhouse in McKinney, to depart at 9am. BTW there is a gas station near the restaurant adjoining the parking lot.
Lunch is at noon at Lupita's on Clarksville Street right across from Paris Junior College. Same owner as Rio Verde from the last time.

Afternoon Car Show
The kid has a t-ball game so I can't make it. However, The Colony is having the 4th annual Classic Car show from 4pm to 8pm Saturday. It is just down the street from my house so I will be there. Any other takers?

Well we had a pretty good turnout.....10 cars and about 15 folks. Great overcast weather for cruising much of the day.
Update on the alternator issue I had.....when I got back to McKinney to drive the Cobra home (had charged the battery all day) there was no problem at all driving the 25 miles home. 14 volts no matter what load I put on it....headlights and all. Frustrating. I will go thru it to see if I can figure it out. Hate intermittent stuff.

John,
If it is not the alternator, then it has either got to be a ground issue or a loose contact somewhere. Remember it could be a loose contact or ground issue inside a component like the MSD, Alternator, or any other electronic component. There also could be a problem with the battery itself causing it to load down the system and pull the voltage down. Normally though I would expect that to be the inverse of what you saw, cooler morning would be fine but hotter temps would cause it to be worse. If possible next time you see it, start pulling fuses to components that are not essential to keep it running. You may get lucky and find it is a fan or something. Worse case you narrow the field on what it can be by ruling out the peripherals. If you have a schematic for the car they can be very helpful.

What a hoot yesterday!
That cruise fueled my fire for a Cobra even more.
Decent turnout.
Nice overcast weather too.
My view for most of the trip.
Lunch at Lupita`s.
While in Paris, you have to see the Eiffel Tower. (with a Texas twist)
Did I mention nice curvy roads?
A big public thanks to Richard (snakebittexan) for not only let me navigate but DRIVE his Cobra! And I only ground reverse once.

I am looking forward to Andrew getting a bit bigger and he and I can start to do these together. Of course the sporting events get in the way too :-) Look like you all had fun

Of course as this year's organizer, I got the only DNF, (actually "scratched") in the bunch. Alternator not charging. Damn.
We had our own party room at Lupitas, and we weren't even loud and obnoxious.
First gas stop on the way near Whitewright.

Hey John Dean...Just want to thank you for getting the cruise organized. Sorry you had the car trouble. Becky and I had a great time. Enjoyed meeting some new folks! Ended up driving 276 miles. Lotta nice twisties. Going home was a tad windy and warm, but what the hey! We need to do it again in the fall when it starts to cool down. Thanx again!

John,
Did you figure out the issue with your charging?

Joe,
It has been working fine ever since. I am keeping an eye on it. Strange for sure.

It has got to be a connection issue somewhere or something is pulling a large load intermittently. If you see it again, start feeling around for a hot wire. If so you may have an intermittent partial short. Hot wire will at least tell you what circuit. You could also look for damaged insulation on the wires. That can create a partial short that will load down the system. Certain types of connectors can also cause similar issues just because of the loading they cause. Miles had an issue with his battery connector causing the fuel pump fuses to blow.
