Austin Labor Day Weekend Party

Who's up for a Cobra party at our house on Saturday night, Labor Day weekend (Sept 1st)? We'll provide the sodas and pizza. You bring significant other, Cobra (if you have one to bring), cameras, booze, any other party favors you would like to share. Party starts around 5pm and we all go to the Oakhill car show around 7:30pm, or we can stay put at our house. If interested let us know if you plan to attend.

Ed,

Snakecharmer, Ren Man and myself have been planning a very similar get together on Saturday 1 Sept to welcome the arrival of Charmers car and hopefully mine and Ren Man's car as well.

Beer, Burgers and munchies and set around and take Cobras

My wife (General) gave me the thumbs up to have it at the house.

This is what we were thinking:

Gregg - BQ stuff(Burgers, Brauts, Chicken, Hotdogs)
Ren Man - He has 5 gallons of home brew!
TCC Members - finger food, munchies ect.....

What do you think?

Like minds think the same. Count me and Kathy in. Do you have the space to park Cobras? I have an acre lot with a circular drive way to park Cobras. If you want the party at you place, that's okay by me. You can always fall back to my place if the members and cars get overwhelming.

Kathy and I will bring sodas and a cake.

Austin members, we need a head count on who's coming to Gregg's house!

Ed,

Parking is not a problem. I live off a semi cultisac. During our block party I used the orange cones and blocked off the majority of the road for the kids.

Kids are welcome! I have a 7 and a 5 year old!

Just need a count of who's coming!

O.K. I'm a bone head. I saw the date but didn't associate it with the day-of-the-week. I think I do Saturday but it's going to be cutting it close. If the shop needs Saturday morning to finish any last minute details on the car, I'll miss it. I'm driving back from New Orleans with the car that morning. It's a good 8+ hours pulling a car. I didn't realize what day the 1st was, Gregg, I'm sorry.

I was hoping to do it on Labor Day or Sunday the 2nd. Any flexibility for changing it to Sunday or Monday? I know it's a busy weekend.....

I was thinking 5pm - 9pm. That way we have plenty of time to shoot the bull. Crank up the motors and let the neighbors hear what cars are suppose to sound like.

I hope this will work for you. Still would like to see more people show up.

It will be a blast. Hopefully Rens and my car will be there!(Fingers crossed)

Howdy Greg,

I spoke with Strech last night and he told me about yall's party plans... I'll be back in town for the labor day weekend and I wouldn't miss the chance to see 2 or 3 new Austin Cobras hitting the scene. I can't wait to see another Superformance on the streets. To bad it will smoke me at every stoplight...

Anyway, plan on me showing up either Saturday or Sunday or both (I'm flexible on my schedule). Let me know if there is anything specific I need to bring, otherwise I'll just load up the Snake with groceries and roll on over.

i'll be in austin for the labor day tennis torney that starts saturday morning and runs through monday. don't know the schedule yet, but should have a better idea by next thursday and if it works out i'd like to drop in. let us know what day you plan to meet and where.

Kyle; Are you leaving those good looking CA gals behind during the Labor Day weekend? I guess you better come home and charge up the SPF battery. You can't leave that Cobra sit too long without a good cruise to charge up the battery. I'm surprised you didn't leave the keys with Barry. Barry would have kept the battery charged up for you.

Saturday night is still open over at my house. Swing on by, have a couple of beers & pizza, and we can do the Oakhill car show together on Saturday night. Anyone else is also invited. Then we can hit Gregg's party on Sunday.

Two days of Cobras, I don't think I can take it at my age.

My car is somewhere between LA and Austin. Shoulda been here a week ago, but if it gets here by Saturday, I'll try to make one of those events. I'm not holding my breath; these auto shippers are lame.

Yeahp I know abought the Auto shippers .They have brought cars to me to repair during shipment so the owner never knows it has been damaged look at every inch and look for touch ups I have a blue and a red Cobra in my shop what colors are yours Greg Charmer and anyone else ?????
Just kidding but i have repaired some 2001 cars before .

Just got word from SPF in New Orleans and the car WILL NOT be ready this weekend. They hope to have it running by Tuesday and tested/adjusted by the following weekend.

So the bad news is that I wont have the big red beast with me at the party....the GOOD news is that they are taking an extra week to make sure that everything will be just right!! I'm actually glad to see it happen at this point

70% Friday
40% Saturday
30% Sunday
30% Monday

Looks like Labor Day weekend is a wash out.
