A. Define "sports car". The first hot rod was my Dad's 54 Ford Coupe with a flat head V8. My uncle had a 63 Corvette.
B. For the Corvette, I was 9.
C. 9, 1963.
D. My Dad worked as a lap keeper at the local roundy-round. I hung around the pits. I was 6.

My first ride was in Dave's car. I helped him work on an axle seal leak and he took me out for spin afterwards. That was in 2009.

First ride was in Miles' SPF. I helped him rewire a relay system for the pusher fans and he took me for a ride afterward.

Default the first time

A&B: growing up in Stuttgart, Germany, right next to the Porsche factory, the first sports car I remember seeing was a 911 back in 1967 at the age of 3.
C: in England on my first longer road trip shortly after receiving my driver's license in 1982 at the age of 18
D: Nitro Olympics Drag Racing at the Hockenheimring in 1989

I drove my first Cobra Replica in 1988 (can't remember the brand), I had to transfer it from a car dealership to an Alpine Car HiFi event we were sponsoring at the shop I was jobbing at.

I was about 9 when a couple moved into the neighborhood with "His & Hers" MG TC's. Not sure what year they were but I remember the big wire wheels.

The first Cobra I remember seeing up close was a Black 289 in spring of 1965 at an Auto X in Fresno Ca. The car was owned by Sam Cardwell who was the caretaker of several Cobras in Fresno and owned an independent British Sports car repair shop.

Laguna Seca 1965, Sophmore in H/S; Cobras and Porshe 904's (or 906?) hauling ass around the old turn 2 & 3, at the time I didn't realize how special it was to be there..

I remember walking past a bug eye sprite around the age of 14 and thinking is that a Cobra! I later went into a show room with my dad and they had a blue one on the floor. I have never been the same since. Oh yea, in the 50's my grandfather had a MD-TD with wire wheels and a pull up top. I think it was green?
