Default Most say good-bye to 289 FIA

I haven't been a member for to long and because of work have not been able to join in any of the events held in the past year. I'm going to have to have a knee replaced and don't want the car to seat. Other then Club Cobra any suggestions on where might be best place to Advertise my 289 FIA?

AJ, I don't quite understand why you're going to sell your car. Is it because of your knee being replaced? Don't sell it because of that. I have had both of mine replaced [at the same time] and still drive mine. Granted I don't race or auto cross it, but with hard work you'll be as good as new. If the sale is because of other reasons then that's different. But if the concern is because of your knee, well I would say don't sell.

Regards, John O

You could get your doctor to tell her that the knee will need physical therapy to recover well, and that driving the Cobra will be a good way to do that, along with other exercises.........I'm not a doctor, but I believe that to be true...........at least try it, and if the knee can't handle it, then think about selling......good luck whatever you do

WTF? Let me get this straight: your wife wants you to sell your Cobra because you are getting some knee work done? It's YOUR knee, YOUR effort to recover and rebuild strength in the knee, YOUR pain, and YOUR freak'n car. Sounds to me like she's using the knee surgery as an excuse to coerce you to sell your Cobra.

Do some women have no sense of boundaries?

I say, keep the car. She'll probably get pissed at you, but she'll get over it. Get the knee surgery and work with a PT to regain your strength. In the meantime, get one of your trusted buddies to take it out while you enjoy the ride in the passenger seat.

Don't want to listen to the rant? Sneak some earplugs in. How old is she, and she still throws temper tantrums when she doesn't get what she wants?

Women!

I agree with everything said, but when it'a all said and done, it's cheaper to keep her. I can always get another later.

number one rule I have is never sell toys. I finished mine when my sun was born (6 years ago) and getting excited as he is getting big enough to ride in it and wants to take it out... let me tell you the car has sat A LOT but getting excited about driving it more.... plus looking to build a bigger house for the car.

The knee joint replacement is a lame excuse. I have had a knee and a shoulder joint replaced, still have 2 cobras and continue to skydive. You will
enjoy being pain free again if yours is anything like mine was. If she wins on
this one what will the next thing be? - don't set a bad precedent! Good luck!

I guess I used the wrong expression, divorce is not in the picture. Her biggest concern is also paying the bills, when out of work.

The trouble is that in this economy, it will probably take a while to sell. You might be back on your feet before it sells, unless you are almost giving it away.

Good luck on your knee replacment.

I can always price it high enough, so it doesn't sell. Good thing she doesn't get on this Forum.

And if you get your knee back working as best you can, and you still cannot drive it, I would still keep it and put an automatic in it.

There are a handful of members on here that have gone that route because of physical limitations.
