Got My TX Title Today
I got my TX title today.... 1967 ASVE. No notes section or any other wording on the title. I was prepared for it to be titled as something else but this is acceptable to me. I am so glad this whole process is over!

Are there mileage restrictions with Antique plates?
That new law sure is a good one if the schedule above is accurate. NO safety inspections, not even a quick check for seat belts? No inspection sticker on the windshield? That would seem likely to attract Johnny Law...even if it's legal, you still have to endure the stop and all the explanations, etc.
Cheers from.....

That is great, I would get the antique plates for it that way you don't have to have an inspections certificate and it cleans up the windshield.
Take care

There are some restrictions for antique plates, you cannot use it for a daily driver, must be used for club events, you may use it for maintance and fuel stops. Those are the main ones, here is list from txdot,
Antique license plates are issued for cars, trucks or motorcycles that are at least 25 years old and are a collector’s item. The vehicle must be used exclusively for exhibitions, club activities, parades or other functions of public interest. Vehicles displaying Antique plates may not be used for regular transportation or carry advertising. The vehicle may be driven to and from a location for routine maintenance.
Antique plates are issued for five-year periods. The registration fee for the five-year period is $50.30 ($10 per year, plus an additional 30 cents for the registration insignia) for vehicles manufactured in 1921 and subsequent years and $40.30 ($8 per year, plus an additional 30 cents for the registration insignia) for vehicles manufactured in 1920 and prior years. Fees are reduced $10/$8 for each year of the period that has elapsed at the time the application is filed

Look at a "Classic Auto" tag.

Sounds great, but safety inspection is $14.00? You will be pulled over by an ignorant cop without an inspection tag, is it worth the $14.00?

Just for clarification.....a set of 1967 original plates, while being antiques, are not the same as what the state calls "Antique" plates. If you attach a set of old 1967 plates to your car, you have all the same rights and freedoms of use as you do with your daily driver. Info about the new issue State Antique and Classic plate types can be found here: Antiques & Classics
