Here is the in car camera video from my trip to Tulsa last week for the TNT Invitational. Clois really did a super job organizing this first of a kind event. He is looking into doing it again in April, so standby for that ...

Sammy was actually only .03 seconds from being the faster Cobra during the weekend. Sammy was hooked up pretty well. It is always good to be on the track with Sammy because you know what to expect and if you are faster (not likely) you get a point around.
Glad you enjoyed the weekend. Maybe next time out I can give you a run for your money. Thanks for the video!

WOW! Sammy! Turning 1:30's in that heat is cookin'. Great video and good lines. "Wild Bill's" car looks kinda like the Animal House Special. You need to consider getting your Vintage Motor Council License and come racing.

Thanks, Larry! I miss you being at the track with me. I'll be retired like you one day soon and will need an economical hobby .. like racing Formula Fords or some small displacement car .. maybe shifter karts for starters
You'll remember what a racer Wild Bill is from when you were at Gateway. It took me 3 or 4 laps to reel him in He is only about 4 sec slower and that is the first time on track for Frankenstang. We shared a raceport. You guys did see this pic, right? 110 degrees in the shade ...
What rear gears do you run? Nice laps, trying to figure out where I am so much slower than you at, you are smooth
Tim, it was sure good to see you, Mark, Dean, and Dave W. come down from STL for this thing. I run 3.31 Jag IRS rear, all special inside built by Mike Bontoft at Concours West. T-600 trans, .82 5th gear. But I run Hallett entirely in 3rd except for turn 3 where I drop to 2nd. Don't know what block you have, but if it is iron 460 then there is about 300#. I have all aluminum, and the 427 is smaller and faster revving, with roller cam and Erson roller rockers. Rev limiter is at 6K. Tires are soft compound replica Billboards, almost as sticky as slicks. Our rwhp are similar, I think about 420 on the chassis dyno. Hope there is a clue in there somewhere ...

Thanks Sammy, I think my rear gears are a big part of it. I'm running 2.73 in a solid axle, part two of why I may be slower along with my driving skills. It is an iron block, ever weigh your car? Mine weighs 2600. Thanks for the info, not meaning to sidetrack your thread
John, the video was shot during my first Sunday session at 8:30 am. A big line of storms came through the night before and cooled things off. The temp was in the 80's. The photo above of me with a wet towel on my head was the previous afternoon after I ran at 2 pm. And I brought the barrel fan from my garage. It was tolerable.
Tim,yes that is a very tall rear end. So run the course in second gear, I guess No I have not had this car weighed.

Yep, bent my 911 Turbo there (very slightly) many moons ago. Its weird to see all those fully-grown trees in the background that weren't there in 1987. I am getting old....
Nice video and good driving. I race a Legends car #58 at Hallett. It's a wonderful track. Granted this is ClubCobra but here is a link I did last month with a little music added for drama. First Run of the Day - YouTube Look me up when you are at Hallett next season. I am there for all the COMMA series races that run the same weekends that the HST run. We usually park in the raceports down by the Stephen's garage.
