Default Final rahr brewery details for saturday

Okay here are the finail details.

It looks like the weather is going to be okay!! It's suppose to be about 61 degrees and only a 10% chance of rain as of today (Wednesday)

Lets meet at 12 NOON in the Veterans Administration parking lot on the corner of 1000 St. Louis St. @ 300 W. Rosedale St., Fort Worth, Texas. If you're coming from the north, exit S/B IH-35 at Rosedale and turn right (west) on Rosedale. The VA parking lot will be a couple of blocks west of IH-35 on Rosedale on the right. Look for my red FFR. I'll be there a few minutes before noon.

At 12:10 PM we will leave the VA parking lot and I will lead the group to the parking lot behind the brewery.

In case you're running late, here is a map to the parking lot we will be using at Rahr Brewery. The parking lot is at the dead end of Cannon St., behind the brewery. You have to come in from the west on Cannon St., because the street is blocked off with a fence, just east of the brewery parking lot. If you're going to be late, be sure to study the map because it's not obvious where the back parking lot is located or how to get there, unless you know where you're going.

This is a very popular event and the parking lot can sometimes fill up so it's best to be there early. That is why we are meeting early and getting there shortly after 12:10 PM. There is very little traffic on Cannon St., so the only people that will really know our cars are in the parking lot will be the other people at the Rahr Brewery event.

Once we are parked in the parking lot we will have a few minutes to socialize and then we need to walk around to the front (south side) of the brewery to get in line to get inside at 1PM. People start lining up early! Once we are inside the brewery we will be able to walk around inside the brewery and go outside to the back parking lot where our cars are parked with your beer. They typically have the rear bay doors open so we can come and go from the back parking lot and keep an eye on our cars as long as the weather is nice.

You are allowed to bring your own pretzels, nuts or other snacks to eat with your beer if you like. There are typically some food vendors at the location, if you want to buy your own food. I happen to know that Mr. & Mrs. Shelton are all about the snacks, so if you forget your snacks hit the Sheltons up. They will have snacks! You're welcome John!

If you have any questions, or get lost, feel free to call me. My cell phone number is: (817) Six-Three-Seven - Six -Three - Four - Zero.

Someone asked about having the brewery blocking off parking spaces. I went to the brewery last night and spoke with the Tour/Event Manager. I'm saving you guys the headache of going into all the planning details and possible issues. The short answer is NO.. I will try to save a few spaces in case we have some late stragglers, but you would probably be doing yourself a favor by trying to get there early.

North Dallas could meet in the parking lot at I-190 & Old Denton...IHOP parking lot at 10:50 and depart at 11 am sharp. That should put us at the 1000 St. Louis St. Ft. Worth meeting place at 12:00 noon or a little sooner if we follow the speed limit.
Who is in from North Dallas?

The IHOP is actually the next exit down, at Old Denton and I190.

This is my first posting since April 2007 on this website... I'm an intermittant regular to Rahrs. I'll try to make the tour as well, but should the employee parking lot (the one in back marked as parking in the pic) become full, they just might open a spot in the front parking lot (they usually have a few spots kept coned for the bikers). Above all, do not park in the lot just next door (nursing home?) - they always tow (private parking/will tow signs are usually overlooked and people in a rush arriving late park there anyway and you will hear an announcement into your 2nd beer that towing has begun). Maybe Rahrs have a few bottles of Bourbon Winter Warmer set back in the walk-in refrigerator that Fritz will bring out for ya'll to try. And BTW, Rahr's has a projection largescreen TV and rents out their place for private parties.

Thanks Alan.. I too have been to the brewery several times. A couple of days ago I went and spoke with Tour and Events Coordinator Stephanie. She said there were some other things going on at the brewery this Saturday and she wouldn't be able to accomodate us with "special reserved parking" in the front parking lot. I think we'll be just fine as long as we get there at the times I proposed above.

Cool De Plan

Ihop @ Old Denton Rd. and i-190...meet at 10:50am depart at 11:00 am. Then we'll adhere to the speed limit all the way to the destination.
Nathan, Francis, Gary, John, & Larry (anyone else???) doing a lead swap (last car in line over-takes the lead car repeating every 5 minutes and the lead car yields) all the way.

Joe:

Thanks for setting this up. I really enjoyed it. I included one picture before the crowds.

What took us so long to make that happen? Great meet and a cool venue. It sure turned out to be a beautiful day. What a crazy crowd.
Joe - thanks for the idea and putting it together.
