That looks like a fine engine to put into your ERA Sammy? Have you already got it fixed?

Sam,
I should still have mine somewhere in the garage. It doesn't have wheels but I built a pallet with wheels to put it on. If you want to borrow it, I will remember who has it...

Clois, that pic is the engine that broke. Still waiting for a diagnosis from Keith ...
David, if it is a Stumpy, I may need it. I don't need wheels, I have a hoist. Depends on whether I have to buy a new short block. The cool thing about Stumpy stands is that you can align your bell housing and dry fit the tranny/hydraulic TOB on the floor before dropping it in the car. Can't do that with the regular stands that bolt to the back of the block.

I don't know stumpy from sneezy, grumpy, happy, dopey, sleepy or doc. The one I have looks like yours. It is two pieces and bolts to the motor mount holes. It does have holes to mount wheels if needed. You are welcome to it.

Thanks, David. Looks like I will need it in about 3 weeks. I'll call you when. Got a call today from KCR ... block is split and everything in it is scrap, can save heads, manifold, water pump ...
New Pond block on order, mucho stronger forged steel crank, H-beam rods, custom Precision oil pump. We are trying a more robust configuration ...

Sammy what reason did Keith give you for the block splitting? Was this a pond block or CSX Block?

Matt, it was a Pond Aluminum. I need to get a call from the guy that tore it down as to what caused it. I think it had been getting worse over time ... I first saw some white smoke out of the right side in March at San Marcos. Then it just got very serious at Hallett. The corner workers were calling me in for having a tire rubbing ... I was aware of it, but I was burning a lot of oil so I decided I had a bad ring or a hole on #4. I had made up my mind to pull it and send it back after the event. Then it broke ...

Thanks, Buzz. I have one locally I can borrow. Y'all have fun at Mid America! I will not be attending this year.
