Mark, I was thinking about going to Run N Gun but the wife so kindly reminded me that is our 25th wedding anniversary weekend and Im not spending it alone in Oklahoma and parts unknown. Also, our first grand baby is due to arrive Oct 19 in Houston. So it looks like I'll be going around Thanksgiving.

Better go big for the anniversary this year because you may need a bye next year. My 20th is next year, planning major brownie points if I can keep from doing something stupid in the meantime.
Congratulations on the the pending grandchild.

Default Long Wait

Bobby --

Did I read correctly that it will be Thanksgiving weekend before you make the trip to go pick up HM2008?? That's still a long wait. It will be a relief once it makes it to it's new home.

Congrats too on the upcoming first grandbaby. We just got our first grandson 8 weeks ago.

Starting up HM2005 tomorrow. Got the bug at the TCC meet and finally decided it's time to hear some side pipe music. I'll do a video but not sure I'm smart enough to figure out how to post it.

Hopefully the days will pass quickly and HM2008 will be home at last. You've certainly been waiting a long time.

Russ! Yes, you read correctly - Thanksgiving. Hurricane has HM2008 about ready. Dusty has fitted the body and panels to the frame. Its me that's holding out until then. I was initially going to go Labor Day weekend, but that will be too soon for me, then there are the events of October listed above.

My garage renovation is still not done, and my work schedule is very hectic right now. With the garage, I decided to install an AC/Heat pump which necessitated 230v outlet, so I decided to upgrade the breaker box to a bigger one, which let to rewiring all the lights and adding more 110v outlets, which let to new insulating and drywall - you see how these things get out of hand. When I get done with this little detached shop, it will have air conditioning and heat, U-verse digital TV and internet, a mini-fridge and bar.

Can't wait hear your start up! I think to post a video link here you need to upload it to youtube, and then put a video link to that in your post here. You can't upload video directly to clubcobra.

Waiting ...Waiting....Waiting.....

I remember the anxiety and enthusiasm. Have fun when it arrives and take pictures. You made a good choice.

Have you finalized your trip plans yet - were you still thinking about swinging through Springfield?
Let's see, you have probably already mopped the garage floor where the Cobra goes by now.

Hey, Mark - It looks like we are going to make a very quick turnaround this trip. My son needs to be back for the weekend, so we are going to leave Dallas Thanksgiving afternoon, after the family gathering, arriving at Hurricane on Friday morning. We'll get the tour by Dusty, then load up and head back home, arriving back in Dallas late Friday night.

Lake City to Dallas in one day - better tell Dusty to be there early.

Actually looking forward to working on mine some over the Holiday. Should have wheels any day now. The antisipation of working up to the first start is about as much as going to get the car.

Be safe.

Mark, my son Nick and I will swap off driving duties

Where are you getting your wheels from?

We will be off on holiday from Dec 21st to Jan 2nd and no plans to go anywhere. I have a 18kbtu heat pump in the mancave and plan to make good progress!

Still a long drive, be careful. Sending you a PM on the wheels, but the short answer is Trigo.

Prepare yourself that you'll receive what looks like a fairly assembled car and the first steps are to disassemble it!
After 6 months, my car looked like this!

Bobby,

I hope you are packed and ready to travel! Only two more days and you will be picking up your new Hurricane
I have the 99 car all cleaned up and ready to take you for a ride even though the weather looks a little cool for Friday.

The garage is cleared, body buck is built, the truck is loaded, the trailer is hooked up, iPhone loaded up with GPS and lots of tunes, cooler with drinks and snacks. I think I'm ready!

I can't believe, after 12 years of Club Cobra membership, the day is almost here!

Perseverance always prevails in the end when the mission is noble. Good job on all fronts.

Bob, thanks for including me in your story; looking forward to the next chapter.
