Need Paint and Body recommendation
I have a factory five Mk4 and I'm to the point where I need to start shopping painters. Im located just outside of McKinney. I've tried my hand at paint and body work before and found out I suck at it haha. SO I need a shop that can handle all the body prep and paint. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Casey

I ended up doing it myself and what a job. Everyone I spoke with in McKinney were way too expensive. I did find a guy who was more reasonable but I was in the mood to do it myself, filler, fiberglass, and paint.
PM me and I'll look up his name. He's in Garland.

Casey,
If you can wait a couple of weeks, go to the 1st Saturday TCC meeting March 2nd. You should be able to get the names and see examples of several different local painters.

David Brady in Ennis should be considered. He is painting my Mark IV now and I've been impressed with the body work to date. Very easy to work with and has a lot of experience. He's probably not going to be the cheapest.....but one of the best. He has a good reputation on this forum. Take a look at previous posts.

JCJ customs in FT Worth. Just repaired my aluminum 427 car after a large rock hammered it on the freeway. Spectacular job. Patrick Goodman is the painter/metalsmith. They did another complete restoration/repair on an original 289 recently as well. They also do a lot of Ferrari work. This is not a "production" shop. Attention to detail, care for the car and quality of the finish is second to none. His phone number is: 817.980.1054.
Oh...and his rate is very reasonable.

David Braddy of Ennis (972-878-9553, cell 214-755-1156) did a good fiberglass and paint repair job for me. He works on Cobras frequently. Don't be intimidated by all the handguns lying around his shop.

After long back and forth, the decision is made David Brady will paint my car. I will do the prep work and he the rest.

I need a Cobra repainted. It doesn't have any body damage but it is full of rock chips on the nose and hips as well as a few scratches. I am curious as to the going rate for a shop in the Dallas area is charging lately. Anyone willing to volunteer this info either publicly or privately ?
