Thumbs up Nov Houston ...One day Rebuild of Paul Risch's Cobra

Hi everyone,

It's about that time again, the first Saturday of the month and I wanted to give you a heads up.

I thought for this months meet we could do something really great for one of the Houston Area Cobra Club Founders, Paul Risch.

Paul's Cobra is in need of sort of a rebuild so on Saturday November the 3rd we would like anyone who can turn a wrench....of flip a burger....to meet at Paul's house (directions to be provided by Paul) for a "On Day Rebuild" and cook out!

The following is a list of things that need to be done:

Hood and trunk: Align and get so they will open and close.
Expansion tank: Add one.
Windshield wipers: Get so they will

So please RSVP to the here on Club Cobra (not my emal address) so we can keep track. Looks like we have our work cut out for us so bring your work clothes and your spare tools and let's get Paul's car on the road so he can join us as a cobra DRIVER. This would be a great oppurtunity for some of you that are thinking about building a cobra to see how one goes together. This, as always is a Cobra optional event. Did I mention that Paul is supplying food and BEER!!!

I hope Paul got a considerable amount of money back for a 'job NOT well done'!

Looks like a lot of the same things I am going to be doing over the next couple of weeks, myself.

I'll try to devote a half day to Paul's effort.

Regards,
Frank N.

Unhappy

Gents,
That is the SHORT LIST of things to be done on Paul's car since it was professionally built. I am sure our group, along with the suggestions from the members of club cobra will be able to get the job done.

Looks like the pros are stepping up to the plate.

Let's not really worry about what happened to the car in the past, as I am sure Paul would not want to go into that on the forum. (I'm sure toypwr will correct me if I am wrong on this)

Come on guys, sign up. The more the better. Paul has a HUGE beer and food budget!

Ping for Paul Risch:
Paul, I think it would be helpful if you would post some pictures of the car so the guys can get an idea of what they will need to bring, and so they can chime in with some suggestions before then.

Guys,
It would be real helpful if you brought any hot rod or automotive catalogs when you come to Paul's house. We need to see what parts are available so we can come up with a game plan as how to streighten out the mess.

Hi ya'al,

I really appreciate your help on getting my Cobra so I can go crusin with you. You can arive anytime on Sat. 11/03/01. I have tryed to post the directions to my house and some pictures of what we have to do but since this is my first post I am unable to do so. I will try again later. To get to my house from Houston go North on Hwy 59 (Eastex) and exit FM 1960/Humble. Go through one light and make a right (East) on 1960 bypass which is the second light. 1960 Bypass goes over Hwy 59. Go East about 2 miles and just past Tour 18 on the right and Meinke on the left you turn left (North) on Belleau Wood Drive (which is between the Chiropractor and 1960 Animal Hospital. Take it till it dead ends into Southshore then make a right (East) and I am the last house on the left, 3527 Southshore Dr. My home phone number is 281 852-7799.

Again Thanks!

Way to go Dennis. Whoever built this car should quit building cars,or get their act together. Could have killed someone with this type of workmanship. Congrats on the project, thats what friends are for!!!!

Default Whoah, Way to go Houston boys!!

Wow, Dennis,
What a great deed you & the Houston guys have done! It's hard to believe ANYONE would bold the seats AND/OR seatbelts to fiberglass and get away with it- or at least assume they would! This could have resulted in extremely tragic events for all concerned, so ALL of you guys down there deserve quite a lot for your efforts.
Dennis, with this kind of help and spirit in the Houston group, I think you really have got it goin' on!
Congratulations to all that came together to assist a fellow member!
