Default Forest lane cruise reunion - june 1, 2013

FOREST LANE CRUISE REUNION NEXT SATURDAY JUN 1, 2013!

On Saturday, June 1st Dallasites can step back in time to hang out, swap stories and enjoy tunes from back in the day. The expected 500 plus cars will command the entire length of the old strip.

From 1964-1989 cruising Forest Lane was the right of passage for every Dallas teen and it’s a tribute to that ‘days gone by’ nostalgia that launched the first annual Forest Lane Reunion. Boy were those the days, but the hot rods didn’t look like what they do today. You will see full blown cars with racing slicks, 427 Cobras, 57 Chevys to vintage Vespa scooters.

Be there or be square!

I have had this on my calendar for months. Count me in.

Cindy's NY Deli has worked great for us the past two cruises.
Weather looks to be cooperative 7 days out.
Shall we say Cindy's at 5:30 to claim Cobra Club spots, eat a bite, and set up for what the evening has to offer?

More like 1964/1965 on Forest Ln.. S/S 409's,Hot 327's,Galaxie 427 FE's,389 GTO's,etc... is when it all started. I was there at the beginning.

Next to the Jack in the Box,east side, was all open dirt lots then. Folks would pull there race cars in there on trailers after racing all day at Green Valley and unload them . Slicks and open headers ruled Saturday nights on Forest Lane. Street racing at it's best !

That's the same day as our annual Worley Family Reunion at my dad's ranch - cookout and fish fry. Sorry, family comes first.

Maybe next year I'll be at Forest Lane - in HM2008.

Since I didn't cruise Forest as a youth, what section of Forest are they talking about? I'm likely in weather permitting.

They cruise between Midway and Webbs Chapel but most of the action and parking in lots is just west of Marsh on Forest lane. Based on weather forecast Friday am looks like Saturday evening could be a wash out.......
