Default also trying to get era titled

I just found out yesterday that I will not be able to title my era in Texas due to not meeting the NHTSA requirements. A supervisor at Austin dmv told me that all this is due to HB 890 from 2011. It looks like lone star was represented due to the fact they are the only company listed as acceptable
It looks like we need to get hold of our senators etc. to try and get things changed. She also told me the state is looking back at all kits titled in the past, so some owners might get a surprise in the mail at some point.
I have a call in to Peter at ERA to let him know about the issue I am having. I was told by the supervisor also that on this last Monday 3 people tried to title cobras so I know I am not the only one in this boat!
So anybody have any more ideas?
I saw another post about this but until we can meet the NHTSA standard we cannot proceed to the next step for titling.

Link to title manual.

clerks getting hung up on manufacturer and "homemade" paragraph in 25-13. A replica manufacture should be listed as assembled. Not ERA, BDR, etc.

read the entire chapter 25 closely and maybe you will be able to explain it to the DMV....

oh and good luck.
