Default In need of a way home.

My car died this morning about 20 miles from home.

Anyone have a trailer and some time they could lend?

Something blew this morning! Sputtering coming into work. I thought that I ran out of gas. Refilled the tank and still sputtering. Parked tha car at work and oil was splattered all over. Wasn't blowing white smoke though. Wet around the waterpump, front and left side of the intake manifold. Intake manifold gasket is sucking air.

Rat Farts!, now I've got to find a way to get her home.

Dude, can't help you with the ride, but AAA is invaluable for this. Unfortunately, they've started enforcing the 4 free services, but used for towing, it's still a great value.

What do you mean by "wet" all over? With oil? Or with water/coolant? And what happened just before this? Was it just started, cruising along, or did you stomp on it?

Check coolant and see if it bubbles when you crank it, or if coolant in oil. Would be a blown head gasket.

More details and we can help identify the problem.

Appeared at first to be coolant but as I got a closer look and a feel, it is oil. I can see it leaking on the front of the intake manifold and down onto the water pump. Appears to be sucking air (bad gasket). I was downshifting on the highway and as the rev's dropped it got too lean and stalled...4 times.

I thought I had run out of gas as I couldn't get it started again. That still may have been "a" problem. Dumped some gas in the tank but she is sputtering and hesitating on acceleration. I need to keep the rpm's up to move.

Default Thanks Everyone, I made it.

I made it home. Ordered a new Fel-Pro gasket set for the intake today. Won't have it till Tuesday but, we all know there are plenty of other things to keep us busy in the interrum (sp).
